so does social status matter to you? would you consider having a relationship with someone that it's lower?....but what if your partner's social status mattered to your family? would you listen to them saying that you shouldn't date him anymore?

Hi swissheart! In my opinion, a facebook account is not a good ground to know about a person. It's still better to know the person personally. My husband, when we were still in bf/gf relationship, he didn't post in facebook that he is in a relationship. He likes his personal life really private as much as he can because he wanted to protect our relationship. What matters is the guy's sincerity. If you feel that this person is really sincere with you, I think a facebook account is a waste of your time thinking about something just because people tell you otherwise. But still, I highly believe in instinct. We as women, have high and accurate instinct most of time. So, trust it. You will feel it anyway if something is really wrong about the guy. God bless you!

Hi Ronadelle, Did I miss something or do you guys know each other personally? Where in the question did it even mention facebook? I'm going to go back and re-read it. I feel like I missed something. Last I knew a social status was a reference to someones wealth and/or popularity in society.

Hi Swissheart, It doesn't matter to me at all and aparently it didn't matter to a guy I've seen off and on for the past 12 yrs. He is far wealthier than I am...in fact we are on opposite ends of the scale. IT's never bothered either one of us. Maybe when I first met him, I felt a little embarrassed but he's so non-judging and down to earth that I don't even think about it any more.

Luckily, my partner's social status doesn't matter to my family and it doesn't matter to me, either. He was brought up on a rough council estate in the UK, and this means that he just hasn't ever known the same kind of life that I have known during the course of my life so far. I like being able to give him a better quality of life than the one that he's used to, as it means that he is happy to be with me and I am happy to be with him. As long as the pair of you get on then I genuinely don't see why their social class would be an issue in the slightest.

Thanks I was never in such situation thu this really happens in real. Some family looks at the other side's status and family background. But for couples who truly love each other, status is not a matter. Love is all that matters and nothing else. have a good day
