Well, I got this info from a friend of mine.. I just want to share this with all of you.. Experts claim that: 1. When we sleep without hugging any pillows or anything around us, we don't worry 80% of the time. 2. When we sleep with pillows or any stuff around us in bed, we actually want to be happy and be an active part of a crowd. 3. When we sleep while hugging one pillow, we actually wish it to be that person we miss and love. So, how do you sleep at night? Do you think this is somehow true?

Hi jdex! I have been thinking of looking for a psychological explanation on why people hug pillows when they sleep. Because I have just recently had the habit and I don't just hug one pillow but two. Aside from my pillow for my head, I have one at my right side and another in my left. So what does that make me? I want to be happy and be an active part of a crowd and I wish I had two of the persons I miss and love?

Hehehe.. I actually don't know what does hugging two pillows mean. But in my opinion, saying that you have a pillow on both your right and left sides, I think it means that you want to have someone who will love both your bad and good traits. Hehehe.. I am just focusing on the traits. That's what I have thought.

hello, I sometimes do both 2 and 3. LOL this is true I think because in number 3 when I miss someone I rather hug a pillow and think that it was the person I really miss and it was really effective. I can sleep comfortably and feels like it was really the person I miss. and also sometimes when i am scared I used to put pillows around my bed. ha ha

True indeed.. Sometimes, hugging a pillow when you miss someone when going to sleep helps you get a good sleep.

You know, I really never sleep in any specific way. It is just how my body tends to fall at any particular time to say the very least. There are just many times where I wake up sleeping at angles where I have no idea how I got there. I think that a couple of my pillows ended up on the floor, blankets ended on the side of the bed. I think that in theory, I sleep with a couple of pillows and just however I really drop to say the very least. There are many times where that is just how the ball bounces. I really feel that most do that. There is no rhyme or reason how they sleep. It is just the fact that they go to sleep that is rather the point. Still regardless of that fact it is an interesting thing to think about. It just sheds some light of the sleeping habits. Very fascinating indeed when you really think about it.

Well, I sleep with pillows around and hug them for a while. These thoughts did not come to my mind and i don't know if these are true in my case. I don't think pillow has something to do with how i feel but experts have studies to prove their points so I guess there's some truth on these.

I am one identified to be doing no. 2 when i sleep. I find it true, as to the interpretation. I like to be always happy and be always having an active part in a group. My husband is too.

I sleep very little because of my pain but I just sleep with the standard pillow and blanket. I think it should be up to each person how they want to sleep. Each person is different.

That sounds very made-up. Which experts claimed that? But to answer your questions, "Whichever way I feel like doing it" and "No, not at all". Even when I sleep with a pillow, I don't think of anyone I'm missing. And I think #2 is true for the majority of the human race, regardless of how they sleep.

Hi there! My sleep pattern can be in many ways. Sometimes I will hug a pillow, sometimes I can doze off without anything with me, Sometimes I hug more than a pillows and so on. I don't stick to one pattern of sleep. It can be a fetal position, starfish etc..As long as I feel that I want to sleep it does not necessary to have pillows or bed with me. They are others tips to show the personality when we sleep in internet and sometimes I found it funny. I can't say that it is totally true but it could help to indicates what kind of person you are randomly.(^^)

I used to sleep with my parents till i was 13. I lost them at that age too and i couldn't sleep at night without hugging my pillow. It could be a representation of my dad coz it's always him that i hugged when i was sleeping.

I don't really believe this information. I like to sleep with nothing around me unless it is my girl. I also do worry all the time. But another thing I do is move all the time. I always try to get comfortable. I think most of these survey type information is always off track.

I don't know if what you wrote there is true or not but I do the number 2 and 3. But more clearly, I don't hug the pillow but put my leg on it. I wonder if that counts

Thanks for sharing the interesting piece of info. Well i just use one pillow to support my head and my husband uses two. what does that mean then? We both do no have the habit of hugging any pillows or anything while sleeping. So we are in no.1 category but i can tell my teenage daughter is in category 2. Very Interesting indeed.

I think that is sort of silly. It could be true in some cases. Especially for those of us that are romantic thinkers. I sleep in the fetal position on my stonach caressing a stack of pillows. I don't think of it as being a man, I just find it very comfortable and I sleep very well that way.

I can see that these might be true, but what about habits? I sleep the way I did as child and find comfort in that.

that is so intersting, do you know if we just do the option we want to be it actually works? I wish I was stress free but I hug the pillow, there's no one I think I wish was near me, not consciently I don't know someone like this

I always had two pillows, one on my head and one that I hug. I don't know if the expert said about this, but I think anybody will have their own sleeping behavior/style and you can't tell they feel the same with others that have the same style.
