People that don't respond to the "one-line-discussions"

I noticed that generally if you write an interesting post you get much more answers. And that is quite easy to understand, also a little child would. If you just write a line and a half or less, you generally get the answers of nobody else or just answers coming from someone that is not really interested in your topic, but that just has to earn the cent more of the day. I think that it happens many times every day. If you write in an anxious way you generally don't have fun, don't improve your english if you are not american or english, and moreover you don't earn what you would. So that you will be in conflict between your aim to earn and your fast way to write discussions. Perhaps it's better to write much less posts but with more lines, explaining anything, than writing a great number of discussions without any sense or costituted of less than two lines. That could be the reason why people don't answer to that posts. have a nice day!

If a topic contains only one line then it could suggest that the user who started it is not interested in typing. Therefore if we respond, they will most probably not come back and comment to us therefore there will be no discussion forming Personally I prefer to spend time on one or two topics, discussing back and forth rather than just leaving a response on many more discussions, with no further interaction, in the time that I can be here. After all, myLot is a discussion site and that is how we earn and how we get to know the other Lotters.

Yes mysd its correct if a starter starts discussions with one line its cant be a good conversation topic in mylot. Then the starter wont come and respond back to those responses. Normally i see some peoples starting discussions unnecessary asking one line questions and peoples responding to that questions but the starter wont come back and give comments back to that responses.

There might be many Lotters who have still not understood that this is not a question and answer site. Among them are those who also think that they earn when others post responses on their topics. It seems that we will never be able to get everyone to understand that we only earn for our own activity

I have yet to start a one line discussion and am known to be a very descriptive responder. When I do see one-liners that first thing that does come to mind is that I am not sure what is to be discussed. If I have answered one-liners I usually place a response where the idea is to get the discussion going to the point that perhaps the discussion starter comes back with yet more detail to be discussed. If not then I refrain from doing so later. Yes it does appear that most will not answer one-liners as really outside of either agreeing and or not agreeing, I am not sure how much more can be said.

I write a lot, you may notice it with my discussions. I just make sure that the topic is clear even from reading only the title itself. But I am not bothered if it gets lesser comment, I am contented that I got a venue to write and earn a little too. I do respond to any started discussion which caught my interest, usually with parenting topic.

Hello Wmaths, MYLOT itself says please be as descriptive as possible. Therefore i feel when we start a one line discussion people wont find it interesting and the reason being one cannot explain what he/she wants to say in just one line. But i do respond to even one liners also if i find them interesting.

Well, that is makes nonsense..Maybe the one who posted like that is just no other to say..And even in response and not only post ,there are people who response in short line..So that is what they want.. Andd it depends if they are mood or not to write like that 2 or 1 lines..

I seldom saw a discussion with a one line only. I just hope that some of mylotters here will post a title appropriate to their details. Sometimes it is confusing If I should responds to the title or should I responds to the details. It seems like some post here in mylot has a two queries in one discussion.

If you use the 'recent' tab, everything passes there. Refresh it often and then you will see them. Many stay put in the 'no responses' too as often no-one responds to them.

I actually responds only on top discussion, I never mind to open those tab as i feared that if I responds there admin will only deleted it in the future and my effort will go to waste.

A topic has to have my interest for me to respond. Think of myLot as a big party--you see one group asking about favorite colors, offering earning sites, stating their preference in pizza. But they are not talking to each other, just asking questions and making declarative statements. How boring! Now the next group is really going at it, discussing topics that are inflammatory, interesting or shocking. They are talking to each other and exchanging ideas, sometimes getting a bit upset or laughing. Which group would you rather be part of? I don't do one liners. The poster is giving nothing of himself and is like a party crasher just breezing through for some free food.

I think that a lot more people will respond to those who take the time to create interesting discussions that will make you think about what the discussion is trying to think about. I certainly am much more likely to write a response if the discussion was interesting, whereas if the original post didn't really make me think about anything I wouldn't find that I had all that much to say. I also like responding to people who I feel care about my posts and will take the time to reply to me, but sadly not many people will bother to do that these days.

I do enjoy a good discussion that I can really sink my teeth into. The one line discussions do not offer that opportunity. Plus I get a little paranoid that those are going to be deleted. And they have been in the past for whatever guideline violation that they might have undertaken. If you don't offer enough to the topic, I really cannot respond to said topic to say the very least. It is just that simple to say the very least. There are going to be a lot of times where the opposite is true however for many people. One line discussions are bad but too many lines is not conductive to get a lot of responses. You'll get some responses, but the average person is not going to want to read a lot of material in the discussions. I know there have been times where I have had to slap myself on the wrist to prevent myself from writing a little too much on said topic, as many would not read it. Still back to the topic at hand, one line discussions is not rather conductive to getting good quality responses.

Starting one line discussions is very easy in mylot. Somebody thinks that in mylot they wil be paid for every discussions started day by day. But we have to explain those peoples that they wil earn if they respond back to the responses they received in their discussions.

I think it depends on the information given by the topic starter. Personally i dont answer to discussions that doesn't interest me. I dont really care if it's a one liner or a whole page as long as it interest me i will give my side for that matter. I also do not respond to discussions without enough information, mostly one liners don't have enough information but sometimes the title speaks for itself and is self explanatory so i still give my side. There are also times that i can't really form any sentence but the topic caught my attention so i only reply with 2 to three sentences at most, i think you can consider it as a 'writer's block'.
