The Story of Cosmetics: Are your cosmetics safe?

Today, most of the big brand cosmetics are filled with chemicals we haven't heard of. And unfortunately, the FDA doesn't have the legal ability to control what is put into our cosmetics. Many of these chemicals have been shown to be toxic or carcinogenic (cancer causing)! Did you know that most drugstore brand lipsticks and eyeshadows have lead? Even high-end brand names like YSL and Dior have possibly toxic chemicals in their products.
After finding out about a lot of the chemicals put into our cosmetics and body products, I did some of my own research. I'm slowly working on switching over to safer products now.
What about you? Did you know that many of your cosmetics and even your bathroom products contain potential toxins?

I'm not a make-up user. I just use a lip balm and I prefer organic. I use organic shampoo and I prefer the natural and organic products. I had watched that spreading scary news of the cancerous mercury content not only in cosmetics but also in medicine and also in toys.
I'm more aware now about the health benefits of using organic and natural producs and I'm in the process of shifting my old habits using those to organic. But of course, it will takes time to totally banned using the not so healthy products.
And it's good to know that there's NGO's that continues to study and share with us the informations about going into natural products. Go! Go! Go! Organic!
