Stop smoking...

I just lost my father either due to prostate cancer or copd or emphysema. The latter being related to heavy smoking... I cannot fault my father for being a chain smoker because his job not really requires smoking but somehow he needs to smoke the only thing is that he became a chain smoker after that. He quit smoking at the age of 50 but it was too late. But if he did not quit smoking then perhaps he could have suffered from another type of cancer which is lung cancer.. Smoking is bad to your health so stop smoking while you still can! You will just waste all your money and resources in buying medicines which cannot cure you after all...

I'm sorry you lost your father but you are right, smoking is a nasty habit. I had a friend who smoked heavily and he finally ended up on oxygen at age sixty. His lungs were so bad that everywhere he went he had to take his oxygen. At home he had a large oxygen tank and when he went out he needed a portable tank. I have not seen him in five years since he moved out of state. I often wonder if he's still alive. Don't smoke!

Smoking is injurious to health and this caution is also printed on the cigerate packs, but people who are addicted into that doesn't seem to stop or quit smoking which is really bad.My own friend who had addictions of smoking and drinks has stopped regular drinks, but finding very difficult to stop smoking.I feel alternatives like nicotine supplements might just help in putting a break on this habit. There is no harm in trying isn't it?

I am not smoking but my husband does. Many times I have asked him to quit but he still does. He denies that he's addicted to it but he can't function well if he will not smoke . he said he needs it to keep him focus on his work. To compensate for this, I see to it he has diet with lots of calcium, vitamin C and I always have him eat plenty of raw fruits and vegetables plus plenty supplies of water. I just hope, he'll quit smoking before it's too late.

I'm wondering why there are a lot of people who are fond of smoking and becomes a habitual to do after eating, when stress, or even just want to smoke while killing the time. I don't know what benefits do these people get when they smoke. But, these people know what sickness they will get, the negative effects it do to non-smokers, to the children, etc. I appeal to those who smoke, please, quit this bad habit. It won't do good to your health and to the environment. While there is still time to quit, do it! What will you do if you found out its the end of the road for you? Quit now!

My grandfather, uncle, father and mother all passed from smoking related diseases. Even though my father had given up and my mother didn't smoke after the 1960s, he passed with bronchial pneumonia and my mum passed with lung cancer and heart failure, caused by passive smoking. If young people could see smokers actually dying, they would never even consider lighting up!

Hi! Its sad to know what happened to your father. But I am happy about your realization.Indeed smoking is never healthy in any angle you analyze it it never give us a good effect. If you smoke not only you will absorb its bad effect but also the people who can smell the smoke. So better be concerned and not fulfill your selfish desires. I say yes to"Quit Smoking.".

That's awful and I'm terribly sorry to here your loss. Smoking is an awful thing, and I don't see how people can even comprehend to condone it. One of the general 'excuses' I hear often is that "we all die someday", this may be true, but is absolutely incredibly selfish, yes, we all die someday, but I know I would rather see my friend or family member live a long and happy life, rather than lose them and be left behind, it's just awful.
