so yeah, I had this kind of teacher. you know, very strict and well my friends and I gave him "killer" nickname under his name. my friends didn't like him because he was so serious person and tended to give us hard time. he liked to despise us when we couldnt answer his questions or tests and he never bother to cover/hide it. although I like him because he could motivate me to be better and (this is a secret) made him recognize me. hahaha. so do you have this kind of teacher? what kind of teacher you like the most? and what kind of teacher that triggers your motivation?

thank you for sharing leon. :) it;s great to know that there is still teacher that made such impression in your mind and made you feel you've learnt a lot. usually my friends like a teacher based on their appearance and how the teachers treat them hm, sometimes those alone arent enough to make my friends get what the teacher wanted us to get.

oh yeah me too, I know that some teachers could be attached to their students or some of them. it is good that the teacher is close to their students, but I dont quite like teacher who is too close with their students, but still this kind of teacher is better than a teacher who just come to education institution and then just tell blah blah in order to get their money, and not thinking bout transferring knowledge that his/her students really need.

I really don't like strict teachers, I can never fully relax in class and be in my comfort zone. Strict classes equals a very boring class. I tend to work better with teachers which are care free, open minded and who try to be comedians. I have a Physics tutor teacher who is just like this. He is so funny and makes jokes every now and then. I can learn pretty easily with him because I can be open with him ans ask him anything out of the blue whereas a strict teacher, I would just sit in the corner and try to avoid eye contact! So I prefer the not very strict teachers, they are my most favorite. I have a teacher who has no idea how to teach and can't control the class. Me and my friends just laugh at her futility and it's kinda rude how the class just gangs up on her.

hahaha that is kinda mean. well yeah a lot students are like that. so you think less strict and try-to-be-comedian will work better for the class?

My kind of teacher is a laid back one. I had a teacher in journalism many years ago where we didn't seem to have any pressures in class. Yes, it was just journalism, but the lessons he taught are still with me. He wouldn't bother taking attendance, yet we wouldn't miss his class for the world. He would just sit on one of the desk, and tell stories. Of course the stories were fashioned out in a way that would be news worthy. After so many years, I still remember him, than all the 'killer' teachers I've had.

I would love to have a teacher which abides by his principles and is a bit strict. I hate lenient teachers, we learn not that much from them. I also like teachers who have a good sense of humor and make jokes sometimes.

I like teacher who are a little strict. I prefer them over teachers who are lenient. I also like if she or he is not to friendly with students. There should always be a boundary between a teacher and a student. It is OK to be friends and stuff but there are limitations.

I have this kind of teacher. He's been my teach on my major subjects since I was a Freshmen. At first I really had nosebleeds every time he discuss because he is so fluent in English since he lived in Canada for how long already. This teacher of mine is also strict when it comes to his subject. You should be always on time or else you will have consequences if you are late. Yes I like this kind of teachers but on the other hand I don't like those teachers who are already beyond the limits of being a teacher. They are just teachers. They don't have to rude anyway when it comes to classroom implementation.

I do like teachers who are able to command respect but they do not command fear. I like to see that teachers are a position of authority without abusing the authority. That is really a fine line that a lot of teachers struggle to get right. Some do and I think that when you really think about it, I think that they were the best teachers that I had ever had. Also in addition, they really do need to know the subjects and are able to explain things, without resorting to saying, "read the textbook." Contrary to popular belief, there are some students who read the textbook, but they still don't get it. They need some information from an expert and those experts would in fact be their teachers. At least that is the theory that would go. Respect and knowledge those are going to be the key qualities that I would think are the best out of the teachers.

Hmmm... I would like a kind teacher, that have a skill to teach their students. Kind of good tempered, funny, and enjoyable. Also have a time to always let us discuss, or ask us anything fun. Making quiz. ahh...,
