French Education has a special character in educating the students. French begin educating the children from Nursery class itself with strict discipline in prescribing children's books. From the Nursery class itself the children are introduced to alphabets, numbers baby talk. Their Pim teaches the children eating and drinking habits. Serge Tisseron a French psychologist advocates that the children should gaze at the pictures and listen to the stories read. The hectic practice is given to the children to look at the pictures and listen to the story read out. The picture books are very attractive with glowing colors. They are placed before the small children like a pillow. French teachers take great care to introduce the small children with rich vocabulary and the comprehension of every word. They take great care to lay a solid foundation for mastering the language not for academic purpose alone but for life. Any French citizen is very proficient in speaking reading and writing French. They have been trained to read the fairy tales with correct pronunciation, dramatization with proper tune. They are guided to compose the sentences and draw free hand pictures. French use a lot of creativity to the children. They learn nursery rhymes in a unique way. If the teachers lay a strong foundation for mastering the language from the nursery class itself the children come up wedll in life. Great care should be taken for hand writing. Today there is a lot of discussion on running hand writing. Some say that in this digital and computer world, there is no need of insisting on running hand writing but on printed writing. But the running hand writing is an occasion to learn writing artistically.

Thanks for sharing. I don't see/read many differences with the way kids learn in our country. I haven't heard there is a discussion about running hand writing although most people won't ever use it. That was already as I was at school (so about 40 years ago). Each time the teacher said I had to write like that but I was just not able to do so but she still gave me a very high note for great writing style. Some kids just can't write like that and also write way clearer and cleaner if they use printing writing. Has nothing to do with the use of computers. BTW also the way you have to hold your pencil is corrected over here, it has to be in a certain way evn if you can't write like that at all.

You are right about running handwriting. It is a way to make children develop their artistic skills and one way of firming and toning their hand grasp reflexes. We still employ it on our nursery class and kids are enjoying it.

I think different countries have their special way of education for their children, and we all respect their unique method of educating our future generation. I would very much like to educate my child if I can on multi-languages, so they can get an early essence of learning advanced foreign languages. That might help a lot in the future.
