Success? Principles? Which one do you think is of greater importance?

Suppose that you have struggled for many years to achieve success but still get nothing . Just at that time, there are two roads in front of you. One of them is a shortcut and you know it can lead you to success very soon. But taking that shortcut requires you to go against some of your principles. The other road seems full of obstacles and it may take you years to achieve success. Luckily, you don't have to do something violating your principles if you take that route. Which road would you like to choose?

That is a very good question! Although, I would love to say success, I would definitely chose Principles!!!! I could not live with myself, if I took shortcuts and went against my beliefs. I think I could (eventually) gain achieve success by being honest & true to myself. I would want to give people the best possible value I could, & do the best I could. to me, that would be success.

Good day. To those who have been struggling for years to achieve success, a shortcut would be so attractive. If they take it, they can save much time and effort. Besides, the result is not bad. But still I would like to choose my principles. Just as you mentioned, it makes me feel comfortable to achieve success by my own effort and hard work. Maybe it will take me years to arrive at the destination, but I'm okay with it.

I would take the road to my principles, even though I will be meeting struggles upon reaching my goals, at least I have a clear conscience that I can be proud of. Besides, my conscience won't stop from bothering me if I will sacrifice my principles just for sweet success that I never taste the sweat how I achieved it.

A pleasant day(n_n)I would also choose principles. Even if that road is full of obstacles. But if I could conquer them, that would make me feel proud of myself. Somehow I believe that I can arrive at that destination at last. Even if I couldn't, at least I tried. There's nothing to regret.

I don't really see why both would conflict with each other. Actually I do kind of see why they would both conflict with each other. However, there are just a lot of times where I think that there are more than one potential road to success. One might be a little deceptive and a short term road. One might be a little slower, but there are times where it is a bit more honest. Success is one one road, it is often many. I think that in the end, I can succeed without greatly compromising all of my principles. It is really not going to be something that is going to be all that hard at all when you really think about it. It might take a little longer but I think that I am a rather patient person when you really think about it but some people are not, so when it comes the time to test themselves, the principles go right directly out the window.

Good day, megamatt(n_n) I agree with you that there are actually many roads to success. And people can choose their only ways. But still I think we can divide these roads into two parts generally. The one which needs to give up some of your principles and the other, you don't have to. To tell the truth, I would rather choose principles and in my opinion, that's what makes everone unique. Even if I would fail, I won't regret my choice. Because I listened to my inner voice and luckily, I didn't hurt anyone. Thanks for your response^_^

Frankly, i will take the former. Even though i know it is opposite to the morallity, it is the answer from the bottom of my heart. Through several frustration, i have been scary to fail again. Now i am in urgent need of achievement, though it goes against my principles. I have to chose that way, or i will be crazy. Maybe i will not succumb to the fate next time. I wish i would not.

Good day, captinjack(n_n) People have their own life experieces. What decison they make, to some extent, has a lot to do with those experieces. So I always believe that people made that choice for some reasons. It's really hard to make a conclusion whether it's right or wrong. For someone who is in an urgency to achieve success, maybe they just fell down too many times in life and they are afraid of failure. The shortcut does look attractive. That would save them time and effort and the result is quite good. But it must be a hard decision to make because they have to go against their principles. Maybe you should give yourself another chance to take a try; maybe your success is just around the corner, waiting there for you.

I would go with the longer route. At least I would know I would get there eventually and intact. Won't say I wouldn't think about it though and ask serious questions like how bad is this, who is it going to hurt or what is the price I will pay for going against a principle. It would make me examine my principles again maybe but if it was a really large concession forget it. Who do you want takin' out?

Good day, Bluedoll(n_n) I also would choose principle. People have their own ways to success. Some gets faster and some slower. I think we don't have to complain that our road ahead is full of obstacles. Because we need them to make us grow stonger. If we fail, that only indicates that we are not powerful enough. So just stand up again and keep going. It doesn't really matter how long it takes us to get to that destination. On the other hand, if we choose that shortcut, chances are that we would hurt others someday. It's kind of unfair and we may regret it someday.

I would prefer the route which has obstacles and which it takes long time to reach success, because success received through shortcut will not be long lasting

A pleasant day, vasumathi. I would like to choose the one full of obstacles too. Somehow I always believe I would overcome all the difficulties and arrive at that desitination. And even if I may fail, I still don't regret my choice.

I would not want success if I could not preserve my principles. I will keep climbing uphill if I must, but I couldn't sell myself out.

Good day, ladybugmagic. I would also choose principles. Even if I would fail. But that would only indicate to me that I am not well prepared yet. The only thing I need to do is to stand up and keep going. And one day I believe I can arrive at that destination.

I'm on principle of course. I don't believe on shortcuts because for me that shortcuts means there's someone along the way you may hurt or stepped. Anyway, it is always rewarding to be successful without hurting someone along your way to the top. Choosing that long road that full of obstacle is expected to be so challenging. And I love challenges! I want to enjoy my success with dignity. Very conventional of me huh! For sure, we will be unhappy in the end, to taste the success with no principle followed. Our conscience will shout inside us saying "you don't deserve it"! On the contrary, some may choose success over principle maybe because they believe that "time is gold"... and they prefer to follow the saying "why wait for tomorrow if you can do it now" *lol... just a laugh aquacan.

Good day Lhenni^_^ I would also choose principle. Even if that road is full of obstacles; even if I may fail if I choose that road. But I won't blame anyone else or go back to choose the shortcut. Everthing is about a time and an opportunity. If you fail, that means you are not well prepared yet. So just satnd up and keep going. One day we may succeed. We would be proud of ourselves if finally we can conquer the obstacles and the fear within. In fact, I think we all need priciples in heart to tell us what's the right thing to do. It is these principles that makes us different from others. Otherwise, people would be all the same since they don't have a ruler in heart. And some of them are coward because they don't believe in themselves that they can finally succeed so they would rather choose the shortcut.

Good day. I think in most cases, people would choose the way full of obstacles. And I would do it too. And I fully agree with you that though it may full of obstacles, taking that road would show people what we are and what we will be. Even if we failed, that experience still gives us a lesson. We can always learn from it and grow stronger.
