Battle of Manchester

United States

In what was meant to be the best line up of the day, the Manchester derby somewhat failed to live up to the close game people were hoping for. A bit unfortunate for United to have 10 men for most of the second half against such a strong and skilled team such as City. It seems there is only 1 team that is yet to fail its supporters but as always the season is still young with a lot of soccer to follow. Hope Chelsea and Spurs will take advantage and both win today.

I actually enjoyed the match. It was a major statement by the Man City team that the balance of power is shifting to the blue corner of Manchester. But you are right, the Man Utd. team just did not turn up for the match. Johnny Evans deserved to be sent off and I would say Ferdinand was really poor in the game as well. Anderson, Fletcher and Evra just seemed to be making up the numbers rather than anything substantial in the middle. On the other hand, Man City was really turned on for this occasion with the likes of Balotelli and Silva really running amok!! Cheers! Ram
