This past weekend, my husband and I were trying to decide what movie to watch. We came across a documentary calle "HOME". It is about the earth and all the changes that it has gone through in the time that we PEOPEL have been around. I have never been so interested in a movie, as I was with this one. If you haven't watched it I am BEGGING you ALL to check it out. PLEASE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT! This docummentary opened my eyes about so many things. And because it is a documentary, everything in this film is REAL. I know that there are many people here on mylot who are concerned with the condition of our planet and I know that this is something that you will appreciate. This is also a great film for all the non-believers out there. The people who think that global warming is just a story told to scare people into buying new things, well think again. You need to see this film in order to understand the trouble that we are in. Scientics have been saying for years that the polar ice caps are melting and that if something isn't done, they will be lost forever and the result will be deadly for millions of people. This film tells us how the scientics didn't realize that the polar ice caps are melting a lot faster than originally thought, in fact they have 10 years left at BEST! This is not good and something needs to be done to fix the problems that we have made before it is too late. Cars, agriculture, pollution and everything else are all adding up faster than the earth can keep up with. That might not seem like such a big problem but let me ask you this: When there are no more trees to provide us with oxygen, what will you breath? When the earth has no water left, what will you drink? With no air or water and no animals for food, what will we do to survive? The answer is simple. We won't survive, we will all die out and the world will be forever altered again. I personally believe that the key is to raise awareness so that everyone knows just how deep we are all in this thing, and so that we can do something about it together. I am not talking about working together as a community or country either, this is something that needs to be done on a GLOBAL scale. So I have to ask: Are you willing to change the way that you live in order to ensure that our earth survives long enough to sustain us?

I haven't seen this particular documentary but I'm sure i have come across all the issues at some point. Global warming/climate change has been studied and documented well (by physical observations such as thickness/extent of ice, temperature records etc) and is established that the average temperature globally has increased and this is a trend linked with increased in concentrations of Carbon dioxide (co2). Let's face it the world is in a bad way, the reason? us... problem is that we are probably overpopulated, definitely over consuming and obsessed with money and having very comfortable lives.... we will have to give up a few of these things we have taken for granted over the years. but this will be good for us, ideally we need to make sure we use existing technology to become more sustainable and invest heavily in it now...not just for this planet but also for our own societies. so we all have to play a part but our governments (elected by us) need to invest in our childrens futures... what do you think?

I am curious to know more on what you have seen in that documentary which you claimed to have changed your life. I would like to watch the documentary to learn more of what the future holds for humankind. Looks like the current natural disasters that had been leaving a long trails of miseries on the living is a warning sign that there will be more unpredictable disasters around the globe claiming more lives sooner or later. The title of the documentary 'HOME' create a deep meaning like calling everyone home to where we belong - our eternal home. Since this world is our temporary home, we have to be prepared always for our next forwarding address.
