Do you have reservations responding to a discussion where BR has already been..

I personally have no hesitation responding to discussion , where the discussion starter has already selected a best response. However, I was reading other discussion where members expressed that they normally would not like to take part in discussion where BR has already been given out... I only see the subject and the discussion topic before responding to a discussion.. How about you all? does it matter to you that when you select a discussion , BR has already been given out...

hi there kiran! just like you i really do not mind if the starter had already given out the best response. what matters is that i have interest of the topic and i have something to share to the starter. what's important for me is that i am heard.

Hi shanemae,Most members would rather respond to discussions without bothering about other details, which is really nice .Once we have something to share we should just go ahead and do so...enjoy your weekend

I like to response to discussion if I know about the subject matter. If I have not any knowledge of the subject matter I don't like to write a single word. I also don't want that my response will be selected BR. I never care about BR or my star. Only and only aim of my response writing is to share my views and gain knowledge from it.

Hi anil,That is how it should be ....If we respond with an eye at the BR or make some prepared response it would not have the same impact. It is better to put our thoughts in simple words and not really bother about anything else ...have a nice weekend

Yes absolutely ! It is better to have something to say rather than make general statements like thanks a lot or all the best...

Hello Kiran ji, I am also saying it. We write our views on a topic. For it we must have knowledge of Subject. We never bother about any other thing.

No. If I think my response can contribute to the discussion by giving a different perspective then I may post my response, and I have done so several times in the past. A BR is a relative issue. What is more important is the discussion itself, which can develop into something interesting, with or without a BR given.

Hi rosdimy, thanks a lot for adding your views I too would do exactly the same.Getting a BR doesn't really matter when I post a response....All the best and happy mylotting

hi kiran, i guess we all have that reservation in mind. sometimes, i myself, reads answers to my discussion which i find to be very very nice but then i can only choose one. and it takes longer time to choose them. but then to resolve the problem, choose what you think is for you the most reasonable and that would be helpful or good in real life. something that you find close to your heart and mind. ann

Hi ann,Thanks a lot for your response I agree that it is not at all easy to select a BR since most members give equally interesting responses and I for one have been very lax in selecting BR for most of my discussion topics...all the best annenjoy your evening

I will never consider the best response option. Every one doing their level best. Every one is important. And yes, i can surely give my response to a discussion after it had got the BR.

Hi ramesh, thanks a lot for your response I too am not very punctual in giving out BRs to my discussion topics. While responding to a discussion there have been times when I have not bothered to look for the date or any other detail except that I had something to add ...all the best

No I do not have any hesitations and or reservations about responding if the BR is selected. I do read all the responses to make sure that what I want to say is not already repeated. But if I can add to a discussion I usually do.

No I do not mind responding to a discussion that already has a best response marked. I do not think that would affect my productivity here too, besides i would respond to a discussion because i felt the need to share my thoughts on that particular discussion and not to get a best response. Getting one of course would be like a cherry on top of an icing but is definitely not the whole ice cream it self. :D

Hi chiyosan, Thanks a lot for the response..You have put it very well - as you say BR is just the icing and definitely not the whole cream ! One should never have any reservations about responding to any discussion.Sometime back, one of the members had asked me why I had chosen to respond to a discussion which was a few months old and where BR had already been given...This made me start a discussion on the topic..

Hi Kiran, Happy and Prosperous Diwali to you. Some members think that once the BR is given that means the topic closed, but all topics are open for everybody in any time. If the topic is interesting and I have something to support or I have something to disagree then I may post my views there. However, if somebody given a BR within one day, then it may disappoint me. The host should wait for atleast one week so that everybody gets a chance to place their replies. According to the guidelines we have to wait for one week before picking the BR.

Hi Sreekala, Deepavali Greetings to you and your family as well ! I agree that it is better to wait for a considerable length of time, at least a week before giving out BR !In my own case I have discussions pending since more than 3 years , of course that is n extreme case LOL....all the best and happy mylotting

I still answer a discussion if i am interested in it even if the best response has been given to a person. There are some great discussions that people have started a few years ago that i also like to answer, as they were really great discussions as well as the responses on them were also great.

Hi jugs,It is the same with me, like to respond to some very old discussions started by the senior members. The other day I responded to one that was 5 years old, realised it only after I posted...I don;t look at anything else when I like the discussion topic - thanks a lot for your response and happy mylotting

Friend I never see the best response is already given or not I read only title some contents and put my views because I already join mylot less time so no matter about BR only comment and response is important for me.

I normally do not post my views wherein best response has been selected. In fact I would like to post my response for recent postings. Of course,I know there is nothing wrong in posting our response even after BR has been selected.

I think it is the type of discussion and what interests me is what is most important. The other features like BR to be honest I am not sure of yet. I appreciate people just responding if is one I created and only have chosen a best one because I thought that was what I was suppose to do but do appreciate them all.

Hi Bluedoll,Exactly ! I too feel that way and that makes me wary of giving out a BR to any one discussion. Most members come up with many different views which are all good and relevant making it very difficult for me to choose any one as the best - all the best and thanks a lot for your response

It doesn't matter to me. It isn't the only reason we respond to a discussion, to get the br. It's nice to receive one but it isn't the most important thing so it matters not to me. To be totally honest, I don't even look most of the time if the poster of the discussion even gave one out. littlemissy signing off for now, talk to you soon my new friend

Hi missy, thanks a lot for sharing your views It is the same with me,most of the times I don't bother to look at anything else other than the discussion subject, if I am interested and have something to contribute I just go right ahead and respond - all the best and happy mylotting

Hi kiran, I have no reservation to respond to a discussion which already got BR. If I feel interest to any discussion then I respond to that. But I think the person who starts a discussion he or she should wait for more responses before giving BR.

Hi bhanu, I agree that it is better to wait for at least 2 weeks before giving out BR...In my own case, I probably have the maximum number of unresolved discussions !I too just go ahead and respond to any discussion that interests me..all the best

I respond to discussion that interest me, not to discussions where I might (or might not) get a best response. I answer when I feel I want to give my opinion and that is not already said by someone else. I donĀ“t care how much money I earn here: I come for fun, friends and knowledge. Funny: I also get paid for that.

I agree marguicha that what is far more important is that you have something t share regarding a subject and in your case since money is secondary, BR too wouldn't really matter. It is almost the same case with me ...all the best and enjoy your evening

I have no problem responding to a discussion where the best response has already been selected. However, once I see that BR has been picked, I sometimes wonder if the one who started the conversation will respond to future comments.

Hi abito, thanks a lot for your responseYes I can understand that , I too have felt the same as to whether the discussion starter still has any interest left in that particular discussion and this is one of the reasons why I am so slow in awarding a BR to my discussion topics...all the best and happy mylotting
