India's maiden Grand Prix was a major success. Great Track, Great Race and Great crowd. India ticked all the right boxes for the Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel went on to win the race. All drivers were very complementary of the track with Mark Webber rating it one of the best he has raced on. The only low point was the amount of dust in the track and that is something for the organizers to work for the next event. What are your views on the race and the track? Cheers! Ram

I am sure that it was a great feeling for the F1 fans from India to have a F1 circuit and a Grand Prix in their country. Personally, I don't follow the races at all, I find F1 boring and I don't really know much about this "sport". What I don't understand is what can the crowd see from an F1 race, because the race circuit is long and it is impossible to see everything which has to be seen at a race. If I were a F1 follower, I wouldn't want to go out to the circuit during a race, as I would miss out much of the race. As for a personal experience, I was at the Hungaroring, the Hungarian F1 Grand Prix circuit, but not when it was a racing event, but just to visit it. It was fun to see so many things, as we were take to a tour of the whole circuit, including buildings, but I wouldn't pay so much money to follow a race live, as I wouldn't see much thing I believe.

I think what excites the crowd is the sound of the wheels grinding on the road. The smoke and screech really brings the crowd to light. Of course, they cannot really enjoy all the details of the race, but the excitement of watching the cars zoom past by is good enough for crowds. Cheers! Ram

I guess it depends a lot on how the person is. I can see how an F1 fan thinks now, but I am not excited by these elements. But I guess there are plenty of people who think the same about football also, so we must accept that there are many types of people with different hobbies and passions.

Exactly. To each his own. Anyhow what I am glad is the manner in which the whole event was planned and executed. It was really excellently planned, arranged and executed. Cheers! Ram

Yes, Schumi could not win the race. In fact, he was never expected to win as well. But it was a great race and the drivers and the crowd really enjoyed it. Cheers! Ram

Yes, India has finally arrived on the Formula One scene. It was a real good show by the organizers. Even the stray dog could not take the magic away. :) Cheers! Ram

Well, I have observed F-1 India as the one of the glamorous event of the year, not only because of the Metallica and Lady Gaga performed but also overall quality of the event.Like you said it's one of the favorite track for drivers. As we know,Vettel has won the title and webber in fourth position. The redbul team want to promote webber to the second position. I also note the Indian driver ,Narain, has performed well, he able to finished in 17th position after started from 23rd after he got penalty on qualification. I hope more and more Indian young drivers will emerge from this event, so not only successful of the event but drivers regeneration as well.

Yes, the race was a major success here in India. As far as Indian drivers are concerned, now that we have our own track, I am pretty sure we will see a lot of new young drivers coming up. In the future you might just see more and more Indian drivers in the circuit. Cheers! Ram
