I just came from a government hospital coz my neighbor was admitted yesterday. They were poor as in trying hard to live and doing their best just to eat 3xaday. Her mom can't read and write. I was so disappointed when I ask his mom if his son already took medicines and she said "no". He has only dextrose and he was not allowed to eat. I tried to talk to a doctor but they said the doctor is not around. I tried to talk to a nurse but she said "wait for your turn"! While waiting, someone said to me that she already waited since yesterday and nothing happens as of today. I really pity them coz some said they don't have food already 'coz they are about to check-out. Even for the check-out they still need to wait and to think that it's just an easy task giving their papers and let them go to billing section and let them go home. Oh my GOD what kind of life is this! There's no one that you can talk to and what if your patient is dying...

Government hospital is the same every where, they are usually su*k and very slow to respond to patient/public needs. It is understandable why most of the government hospitals su*k, the public employees are not required to work hard and be nice; there is no consequences for not doing their job well other than physically present in the hospital, or as a matter of fact, in every government offices. There is no accountability and the need to be responsible once you are a government employee, you get guaranteed annnual raise, seniority pay scale adjustment and life long pension no matter you work hard or not as long as you stay in the service for many years. It is a very bad system for any establishment except the government where productivity is not tie to job performance at all to get a raise every year.

You are definitely right and it's totally unfair to everybody! In the government everyone is a boss. The people in the higher rank are still longing for higher pay so they are always busy looking for people they know in higher positions to help them. Take note, they are not busy with their own jobs but to something else.

All hospitals are the same. They are businesses and it's about the money not about the people. If you can't pay your bill, if you don't have the insurance payed they won't help you. They are always busy even if they are not and you see them only drink coffee, doctors are seldom really interested (so they let you do test after test after test and make you wait weeks for the results and let you pay time after time). If you are question what they are doing or if it's right you can send a claim (nobody will respons) they can make mistake after mistake but you don't get your right or any guarantee on what they do/did. Over here you are not even allowed to go straight to the hospital yourself is something seriously is going on. If you need a doctor it's normal to wait for months. It's just a business like any other and most of the time you even get sicker when you go in as when you come out. Mostly it's just a waste of money and time. Since they tell you they can't do anything for you, you have to live with it or ask you what you want them to do.

It's just fine with me if they said that they need this certain amount like in any private hospitals so we can find ways. I went there trying to help and if it's financial problem I can ask assistance to our neighbors and to our government officials in our place. It's not that they gonna tell you to wait for your turn and there's no certainties when that turn will come. I felt so bad. They are not treating people as humans just because they are poor.

I agree with you WakeupKitty. They don't care about the patient but only the money. They never understand the situation of the patient and when you tried to approach them, they will be the one to get mad at you. They don't care about poor patient who cannot pay bills and medicines. But they do care a lot for patients who are wealthy.

It really amaze me seeing those people who always fight for their rights. I salute them. One time, I saw someone in the hospital really got mad for the very poor service that they got. When she ask, the nurse scolded her. So she scolded the nurse too 'till they caught the attention from everyone's around. We hated that nurse too so it ends up going back to her station without saying anything. You are right we need to forget the bad experiences and learn a lesson from it. Life is too short to be unhappy.

I had worked in a Hospital and that set up is really usual. Actually, that's not the worst scenario you would ever seen. I hate to say this but most of the people there, the nurses and doctors are heartless and rude. They never understand the situation of the patient even the patient is dying. They didn't mind if the patient cannot pay the bills, they wont release them from confinement until they settle the bills. They will talk to you in rude manners like you're such a stupid person. I had worked for one year in the Hospital and I can no longer take the scenario happened everyday. I cannot talk with patient in rude manners because I know that they needed someone who could understand them. People there seems to be very irritated with patients.

I thought nurses and doctors were taught good manners in school!? and why they acted that way? Are they that wealthy? I'm really pissed off the way they treated people. If they can't do their job well then why not resigned. If they can't take seeing poor patients then go to private hospital. Simple.

Yes it really take that long for most hospitals. It is just sad that some people had to die because they were not attended to immediately. It's really disappointing and sometimes people who has connections in the hospital are prioritized even when others are suffering so much.

That hospital is poorly managed. I think that even with the lack of a large budget/fund, that hospital or any government hospital for that matter can deliver better health service to its patients. Get the attention of the hospital administrator, the city health officials or the health department of the country and inform them of the service you received. One thing that we can do as individuals is to make sure that we keep our body and mind strong to avoid getting sick and land in the hospital bed. :)

I doubt it if they still willing to hear complaints. I'm sure they already know what's going on. Better eat more veggies, it's really good for the health. It's cheaper so there's no reason not to eat.

Personally many times, the type of treatment you get in Hospitals and Emergency rooms anymore is frightening, and scary. It makes you wonder even if you got decent insurance when did the Health care system get so UNCARING? I have often wondered as things continue to get worse will we see people dying from small things even just because someone did not have time to get them even a small antibiotic or a bite of food and water?

this is a common problem nowadays when it comes to government hospital and the health care they provide. people often complain because of the kind of services they are getting or not getting at all through these institutions. if you will hear the people sentiment about this issue this place is not worth even a penny from the taxes that comes from the people whom they have denied healthcare..if you will hear from the health giver point of view they will say they are overloaded with patients and out proportioned compare to the number of patients they attended. added to this dilemma is the low salary they are receiving from the government compare to the private sector who gives more than what they are receiving from this government institution. the bottom line of this issue is if you have money to spend you go private, but if you have not then you have to be contented on what this govt.doctors and nurses could extend..still the issue of economics is a big factor here.

I don't think so that they do got a low salary. In fact, most of them love to work in government coz they are just making themselves busy of doing nothing but still earn a lot. I don't believe when the nurse told me that she's busy coz there's a lot of nurses who does nothing and practitioners too. The fact is nobody cares for the poor.

This is one sad truth with government hospitals that supposed to help the poor and the needy. I also have few experiences when helping other people dealing with public hospitals. There was an event that I even asked help from media due to this public hospitals system that they ignore poor patients. Now,they know their lesson.

They are devil for sure. They treat poor people as dogs. Do they still have hearts? Are they not afraid to die?

You know government don't give their best service that we deserve. Most best services can be found on private hospitals like saint lukes medical center and so on. It's very sad that our government hospitals still lacks of equipment and manpower and there no enough rooms for the patients. I wish one day everything will change.

It's so hard to believe that when we talk about government stuff they would say that there's no budget/money allotted for it but if we try to analysed how our government officials corrupted billions of money! Really sucks!

I agree with you Jenith dear with regards to this one. Government hospitals really sucks. Why? Government don't have funds for such or if they have it don't go to the hospitals but in the hands of the administrators. They don't respect the poor people that comes in the hospital because they or shall i say "we" don't have the money to pay them. In most cases when the people came in the government hospital, they wont entertain their needs abruptly even if the person is dying.Personnels will really ask them to wait to verify or ask if they have money to pay, which is very inhuman. You see,a man is dying and you'll let him wait to be check. And because we are poor we have no choice but wait, mouths were zipped, hands are tied..Government must look after this.

They do have funds but someone corrupted it. How could they live a happy and abundant life with the wealth which is not for them? Here they won't ask for money they would just tell you to "wait" till you die. Always waiting for nothing. Since most of the patients admitted to this kind of hospital were poor and when they ask for something the nurse will be upset and say something bad. So inhuman.
