Do you feel happy and thankful in earch morning but somewhat feel depressed remembering that today you are going to work again? Then if you are in your office, your heart is beating fast as if someone at your back will stab you to death? And the place which you feel a safe haven years ago seems to be a prison jail and you feel you are being freed when the time strike at 5:00 p.m. Well, yes for me. I am hoping I could get out of the situation. I am starting to hate people around me which I used to love and respect knowing that they are making my situation worst. It's like there's no way out. Everyday, I just pray to God to gave me the courage and strength to face them. And thanks God, Mylot is not restricted here as all other social network is off in our office. At least there is a venue to speak my mind. Reading mylot discussion has been a theraphy for me, to keep my focus and to hope for an end to all of this sufferings.

No I'm not....my work sucks due to the people around me....I love the work itself but the environment really sucks.....however, I know how to fight and fight silently, through emails....I am working in a multi-cultural set-up.....different mentalities, different attitude, different behavior, different cultures....these are just among the challenges....another thing is the competency of the people around, most of them have no hotel background, they do not know even the basic procedures and processes, i have to fight with them to follow whatever i had implemented....you are luckier as you are free at 5pm, for me no.....i need to render unpaid overtime just to finish the task...during the day I have no concentration as people talks too much, bothers too much, phone ringing every 5 minutes...but I need to stay for another year as it wouldn't be good in my work records to leave at this stage....so I will go on fighting....

You have to fight for yourself and I encourage you to fight....one thing different in company setting there in the Philippines, people take it personally if there were disagreements at work. While here abroad, people fight and shout at each other about work related matters, then after some time, it is forgotten because they understand that it is nothing personal. I encourage you to find a work abroad, in the first place, I don't see any future in our country plus a lot of benefits if you work outside the Philippines.

I am very for myself that I had no interest with working abroad before. Now, I can not leave because of my daughters, they are too dependent on me. I know they will not agree with it even if its because of financial matters. I just want to finish all my problems and settle on having a small business in the future.

People are telling me to as the Human Resource Dept. for my transfer but I don't want to do it. I know if I feel bad seeing her, she was suffering too because of my presence. If she wants to get rid of me then she should try to be good first, maybe I'll give her mercy by transferring. Now, if she was too hard headed, then let the both of us suffer. I know time will come that I will get justice from all of this.

I've always been a work aholic. I worked 60-80 hours (outside my home) and after that I had to work at home (my own shelter) and after that do my housekeeping and kids. So I hardly slept. As I quite with this all I thought I would never manage, I would have had so many time left over to do ... I would be bored. But the thing is I still am running out of time. I don't miss the work at all. At that time it was inspiring me and gave me a lot of energy but I also had no time for me and way too less for my kids. I am much happier now even I have very less money and my savings are nearly all used by now.

I really wish that the proper time for me to resign would be soon. I am really thinking of other ways to earn and hopefully it would be enough. Every mother would care less about money if it means losing time with the children. Good for you that you already find true happiness, God Bless You and your family!

i am sorry to hear this. currently, it is not a nagging boss that is taking away the inspiration. it is how things are going along in the organization. there are a lot of improvements to make especially in the evaluation of people and giving increases to their pay. some people can live the day in the office not doing anything and not working for an output. some people are given more work to do while the others are just doing nothing. sad, isn't it?

Since I am from government sector, I've seen all kinds of employees too. Yes, lot of them came from where I work. I am really pissed of with the kind of big bosses that we have here, they used their powers to re-structured our salary not with the ones mandated by law but to their advantage. They are already above 60% higher than the law mandates but still, they want to increase it with 30% more. They should have given the 1st 10% last July but could not release it until now because of insufficient budget. How would it be sufficient if the increase of the boss will cost millions of pesos wherein in fact, they should be decent enough to beg off from the increase. They already got more than what they should have.

This is a sad state. If you are becoming unhappy with your current job, you need to internalize or assess your goals. Think why you applied in that company and why you are working there? Think of your career goals. Do not focus on the people around you or those who are making your life miserable. Remember, they will not be able to pissed you if you don't allow them. If you see that the company would still be able to provide you the requirements to meet your personal goal, then don't just give up. Fight back in a diplomatic and proper way. Show them that it is you that they need. However, if you feel that you are not achieving your personal goal in that company, I believe it is time to jump off. Do not talk bad about the company and do not burn bridges. That way, you will not have a ghost that would hunt you when you work for other company. Know that you are still part of the company so anything you say against it would come back to you. Another tip, read "How to manage your boss". It will give you some advise on how you will be able to cope with an irate boss. Goodluck!!!

I am really contemplating on resigning but I have to hold on because there are problems that I need to face. I have small plans like having a small business in our place and of course this online earnings will be a great help. I want peace of mind and happiness I will never get at work. Everyone there are too greedy and money is all their concern. They already forgot the good things that I've done for them.

you don't seem to love your work at all.. well most of us don't.. each morning we have to force ourselves to wake up which can be a very sick routine.. you may love or may not love your job, find something interesting to do within your job, see from the aspects of your skill and your interest and find something you can enjoy doing every day. but if you still feel unhappy, then the job is not for you..if you can find something you love to do everyday, then your current job won't seem so bad after all.. good luck!!

Maybe what I hate is not actually the job or the company but the people around. Yes, I find ways to be happy by myself during office hours. I am online with mylot, doing blogs on office hours. Now, I am also doing origami to have a little peace for myself.

Work is something to live for and be happy to have one. However, if your work environment makes you misery then its not healthy anymore. The criteria of a happy and efficient worker to his or her work is that "each day you look forward of doing your job". It draws out the best in you. It motivates you to reach the optimum level of your career. Then so, if you fell non of these fits - then you are not in a healthy working environment. Make a move and save yourself and don't be afraid to take a big leap to cross over a new horizon in order to reach your goal.

I know, it is not healthy anymore. I get hurt everytime but I'm sure fellows here are also hurt too. But there are good hearted people here but could do nothing but to follow to the big boss. I understand their situation but I know If I am in their shoes, I could do better and decide for myself.

I have only had a couple of jobs in my life. They were both before I was the age of 18. My husband has schizophrenia and temprol lobe seizures and he is not allowed to work or be at home with the kids alone. So I have been at home raising kids. We have 8 kids. The Oldest now is 21 and the youngest is 11. I have thought about going into the workforce and it scares me alot. I do not have many skills and am a very shy person. I really hope that your situation can turn around for you. And it is good to hear that you have an outlet like mylot to share your story.

Job stress and tension can get the better of us at times.I feel meditating for a few moments early in the morning can give us inner peace and we are ready for the travails of life.Early morning walk or some exercise makes us more alert for the day.Its good that you keep faith in God in these difficult situations.Queries and replies on my lot are a useful source of stress busters.

I'm sorry you feel that way at work. Always sucks when you have to go to a job you hate. I feel that all the time. I hate, hate, hate my job and it's been sometime and I haven't done anything about it because I just can't seem to find a new one. D*mn. Although for me, there's only one person I hate ~ de eveel boss! And, yes, thankfully ML is open as other social networks have been banned as well. Although, from the way things are, I wouldn't be surprised if ML gets banned, too. I think somebody's spying on my computer.

Actually it is a good job, the pay is enough for my family. But since I have this other problem which is not work related and involves my boss too, she was actually turtoring me 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I just keep my silence which I think is making her more angry. I know how she feels, because she can't get any reaction from me. Though I how, she will find ways to fire me because I know I am protected with my rights. I heard her two days ago reminding the MIS dept. to restrict facebook because she taught, I was busy with fb. No one in the office knows Mylot, in fact I only know 1 person from our work who knows how to work online. I know she will do anything if she find out that mylot is keeping me pissed of everytime I am here at office. She really had to find ways of making my life miserable.

Feeling thankful and happy is very hard when you do your best at work and others still make you feel miserable. I had a job for years where i almost went crazy. My boss was sitting in the same office room or next door, always watching and criticizing my work, not giving five minutes break all day, and what i earned was only enough to pay the bills. Resigning was the only option for me and thank to God he finally gave me strength for it. I thought i would never feel like working again but when i got something even if that was just a little bit better I got inspired again.
