one of those electric space heaters, that's oil filled? My dad was telling me they work good, the oil heats up and radiates through the room. He said it would be cheaper on electricity, because once the oil heats it'll shut off? I was thinking of picking one up, Walmart has them for about 35.00. I bought a couple of the regular radiant heaters, but just not cutting it. Trying to cut down on the expensive gas usage, but now my electric bill is going up a bit by using all the space heaters, though still cheaper then the gas.

Sounds to me like your dad may be right. You can buy it from Walmart, and give it a try. If it doesn't do the trick, save the receipt and return it.

Good idea. Check a RV camping place too. I picked up a space heater, and it works in the house in one full room.

I ended up buying it, think it was about 35.00 at walmart. Works great. Kinda slow to start heating up the room, but works a lot better then the other ones do. Maybe wait till the end of the season sales, and pick up a few more!!

we are using 1 cause we can't afford to buy oil to heat our house! It sucks!! But just to assist in heating would be great! You can turn down the thermostat and just use the heater in the rooms you are in most. Like the living room and your bedroom!

Thanks, that's all I want it for just to supplement the regular heater, and keep that turned down.

Well just bought one of those radiator electric heaters that are filled with oil. Has a thermostat, high, medium, low switch. Seems to be working very good, kinda slow to heat up-takes a few minutes, but heats very well when it does!

The oil filled radiators are good heaters. We have two of them, one up stairs and one down. They work great, I also think they are alot safer then the other heaters. I also think the are more energy efficient. My electric bill has not gone up that much compared to using one of the other heaters. They are not going to heat up a house but they are super to use for extra heat in a room.

One of my friends was telling me how great they were just a few weeks ago, when I was picking out a heater to buy. But my cats like the blowing hot air, and like to sit on my lap while I have it on. I ended up getting a Vornado, but actually I don't like it that much. The hot air doe not bow hard enough on high. I have had good experiences with Holmes, and I'll try them again next time I buy. But for the oil heater, my friend recommended it highly and the price is very good!

The smaller ones I got for the bedrooms don't really put out much heat. You almost have to keep them on constantly & it still takes awhile, which kinda scares me to do. I do like the radiant oil heated one though, slow to heat, but does work good. I have it in the living room, there's the front hallway with the thermostat right next to it. The house heat won't kick on becuase it's too hot in that room, so the back of the house is cold lol. So it's doing it's job. Also too, now granted I have 5 small ones, usually not all at the same time or constantly running. My electric bill was a bit high. Still cheaper then what the gas bill would've been though.
