What are the stars?

I know that the numbers listed next to our username indicate how many discussions we have participated in what I'm not sure of is what the stars in front of the username stand for. I assume they are a ranking system of some sort but I have not been able to figure out exactly how that works because they do not seem to be dependent on your participation alone. Also what is the highest star rating you can receive? Thank you fellow my lotters in advance for helping me out on this one, I know it may sound funny but I have really been bothered trying to figure this out for some reason.

I think we will get stars basing on how active we are in this site.I read some where in the discussions that 10 is the highest rating and you got it.have a nice day.

Stars are the result of how others rate our posts.
Activity has nothing do with the value of our star.

Oh its very nice listen this i thought it depends on hoe active we are in mylot.Thank you for helping me regarding this.Also i am thankful to mylotters for giving me 9 star.

'Rated' everyone, not 'ranked' 
The ranking is a result of rating, inside each interest that you have added and appears beside your username in each of your posts.
I see that you have reached 200 now which means that you have access to the smilies.
They are under 'myLot code' to the left of the box where you type.
If they don't work, then log out and back in again.

THANK YOU!!!! I know i should have just referred to the guidelines to begin with but for some reason I often have trouble navigating through them and finding the information I am looking for, it really does help when some one is able to direct me to the correct section. Now that I understand how I got my rating and what I can do to help others get theirs as well I will def do my part. Again thank you, now that I understand I have already begun to use this system and ranked everyone who has responded to this discussion.

hi curmont you already have a ten the highest you can get. the info is in the questions and answers, did you read them as they answer all these questions. the percentage inside the star is your mylot reputation you get by us fellow mylotters rating you plus of minus. 100 percent is the highes, why is this important, your reputation is figured into the my lot earnings algorithm so you are sitting pretty right where you are.

You get stars once you reach 100 and you get ranked based on how well the other fellow mylotters think you are doing.You are a 10 means you are doing well.Keep up the good work.

your star is the largest that is currently 10.
I personally understand it as much as their more active people vote for your discussions more reputation or your star is a high level.
This is just great.
Do your best to always at the top.

i think this star show our reputation in mylot.
maybe it depends on how much we post some discussion, and how much that reply.
or maybe, how much we respond to our friends discussion.
maybe it will help your star rising.
it really something that excited.
it gives me more spirit to active in mylot.
