After watching the live telecast of the football match between Indonesia and Thailand, I must congratulate the Indonesians for their brilliance in upsetting the Thai team. The Indonesian win has qualified them to meet their arch rival Malaysia on 17th November and I can foresee an interesting and entertaining game for all football fans from both countries. Who will match to the final is anyone's guess. Indonesia have proven their mettle against the Manchester United of Asia, Thailand. Being the underdogs, Malaysia will match to the lion's den with full confidence that they have what it takes to prove their critics wrong. And should Indonesia think that Malaysia is an easy meat for them to beat easily at their home turf then they have something else coming. Soccer is a different game altogether, it is not only the use of the right strategies to beat the opponents but with the fittest players and less mistakes done, football is any team's game of win.

zandi458, I believe the Indonesians are having home ground advantage in this SEA Games soccer which explains their successful results so far. As for Thailand, I have to say that the players are not like their former predecessors of late. Also, I believe their poor showing could be due to some distractions that is happening with their players home country - floods and bombings. I really did not expect much from them starting with World Cup Asian qualifiers which saw them in a rather jaded state. I am hoping that Malaysia will give the Indonesians a match of their life, than a walkover performance. However, I hope it will be a clean game since I've heard that the usual wave of food poisoning is happening with quite a number of teams in the Games. On this note, I just do not like the Games in Indonesia because it is not some third world country where food poisoning is rampant. But, I just do not admire people that likes to hit below the belt. However, I do agree with you that Malaysia may just have an equal and outside chance to create an upset since the ball is round in a soccer game. Good luck!

It is a shame that food poisoning has marred this big sporting event and the host country should take responsibility for what ever happened under their care. If it is true that they have been negligence they should no longer be given the chance to host future competitions. The just concluded match between Indonesia and Iran showed that they did not capitalize on the home ground advantage. They lost the game miserably.
