I do, but i dont! its realy a sentence we use everytime to forget or to apolagise something happend. not at all everythings are happening for a reason. but there are many things in my life happend for a reason. i lost my lover. but i think it happend for my goodness. and everytime i fails i will tell to my mind "Dont worry it just happend for a reason" it make me confident and to forgot the pain of failoure. if everything happening for a reason...then why should we need worries? its just happend for a reason! sometimes we miss a bus,and later we heard the bus make an accident.then we say we miised the bus so that we survived. some mistakes in our life helps us for our good. so that we saying something happens for a reason............ do you believe this?

I say yes. Sometimes we take for granted to ask ourselves why good things are happening to our lives and we always see the bad things that happens or happened. Usually when bad things happens, we say, it happens for a reason; but to those good things we never say it happens for a reason. Whether it is good or bad that happened, it does a role in our lives, because that thing might make us a better person. We do not know what will happen the next minute, so the best thing we can do is just think for a while why it happened, if we do not get the answer quick, along the way we will know what it is.

I don't really believe in "everything happens for a reason" but I do believe in "cause & effects"... You could argue that something causes something else to happen so it happened for a reason... But I think there's a slight difference in concept... Every action has an equal & opposite reaction... But what reason could there have been for the original action to cause that reaction? I don't believe the "original" act may or may not have a reason, it could be just a random act of nature... But I do believe there's a effects, or reactions, to everything that happens... Whatever the reason was for me to miss that bus, effect of that was me not being part of that accident... Or, I partied too much the night before... Effect of that was me sleeping late... Sleeping lated caused me to miss the bus... Missing he bus lead me to not get involved in the accident... I don't believe the reason behind me parting too much was to miss the bus... But the end result, or the effect, was... I believe almost everything we do leads to some sort of an effect & consequences...

sk66rc I agree with some of what you said, but I don't know if there is such a thing as a random act of nature... perhaps there was a reason behind it that we just don't understand yet?

It depends on how you would evaluate it in yourself. Some people say that " by luck or by chance" somehow it would rely on your own understanding and interpretation as well as accepting the way it is. For me, i believe that everything happens for a "Purpose". Why did i say that? well, because every actions that we made has it's own purpose why we do these things and where, how and to whom.... It is because of our purpose. The act of doing and achieving things out of our purpose gives us more satisfaction. The reason comes along for whatever purpose we have taken of and cared of. Reason is the result of your Purpose. You have the purpose because you have the reason. Hope it is okay for you.

I say God has a purpose in every reason that we think of. No doubts about it, sometimes God uses a curse for others to be a blessing to us. Out of sorrows comes joys, out of weakness comes strength. Let us thank Him all the way and enjoy life to the end.

Everything Happens for a Reason? is my favorite line from the hit TV series LOST Whether i believe in it can't say because that's too complicate one to explain its in everyone nature to believe the everything happen for a reason or everything is already written somewhere but many don't think of it that much as we haven't read it I believe life Should be a surprise and live everyday to fullest without thinking of what my fate is or going to be

The phrase seems to be a good excuse on how to accept things willingly. But, if its a way to survive trials and hardship here, I guess I must believe.

I do think that everything happens for a reason it possible that it just was not meant to be and that you will be able to find something even more suited to you. I also think that everything that happens shapes you as a person, leading to who you are today :)

well i think it is always the case, that something happens for a reason... that we do find ourselves in a situation we never expect ourselves to be in. or that it is totally out of what we see or pictured ourselves in. But as for God, everything happens for a reason... It happens because it needs to happen...

Yes, I do believe in that saying. Everything that exist have a reason for it's existence.I have experienced it many times, like you said when you lost your lover it's because of your goodness. Maybe your not really compatible and there's someone who is made for your kindness. There are times too that we thought that we have done enough to get what we want but instead we failed but as time goes we realized that we have attained more than what we want in which before could not achieved. So that makes life more interesting.

I don't think it does. I mean like if I missed the bus to work because I was late to wake up, that does not mean that that happened for a reason. It just means that I missed the bus because I woke up late. I use to believe in destiny, I still do now but I am not as naive as before. I no longer think that things will just happen without me putting work to it.

I have never thought like this but sometimes I don think like this. I mean I am like you only. As you said in starting that you believe and you not. Same with me I do believe that everything happens for a reason and I don't too. Getting worried I have never been worried for anything. I know if this is happening it will happen no one can stop it. Then why to worry. People use it many times, even there is some thing like anything happens is for your own benefit. You gave a example of bus, which get into accident. There are many stories on this, one is from our great Indian Akbar and Bearbal collection.

lijoos I absolutely think everything happens for a reason..the world is too orderly and too fine tuned for it to be otherwise. We don't quite understand why everything happens as they do but that is because we have not yet developed enough understanding..at least that all makes sense to me

i think there is no such a thing as coincidence, things must happened for some reasons.what you did may have great effect on things coming, and your choice will be important, whether you choose this way or that way may lead to totally different results.Since things happen for some reasons,we have to be careful when we are making choices,i think.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. We existed for a reason. We have life for a reason and whatever that is, it is individuals responsibility to find out. I know life is a bit complicated and everything in it needs a broader understanding and looking ways deeper that life and existence has a reason.

I can't say I do either.. in the end I might tend to say there was a reason for it. But if I say so it's more because I am looking for an answer (or is it an excuse) to make up what is wrong. At least I think that is how it works. It's not that if looking back I would change things, since what happend already hapend and I assume that it made me to the person I am. Or if not so, then I would get into the same kind of "trouble" because I am what I am. I don't think there is always a reason for what is happening to me or us. I think there are things just happening and we have to find a way to deal with it. If you can do that you will become a stronger or more creative and probably also a more interesting person to others. Why? Because you have life experiences, something to talk about and to share.

Like you lijoos.... I do believe in it, but sometimes I don't. The instances you have written are the common things why we say those lines. But sometimes in order for some thing to happen, we need to make an action to it. When we fail we cannot say it happens for a reason, we fail because we did not chose the right thing to do. We failed because we didn't give our best efforts.
