How Do I Remove Cork From Wine Bottle

This happened to me once before. A friend gave me a bottle of wine but I do not have a cork screw. And even if I did, it would not help. I am very bad at uncorking the cork.
I know that there are ways to remove the cork without a cork screw. The last time it took me hours over a period of two days.
Can anyone suggest an easy way to remove the cork?

Thanks for the info but I was able to push it in very easily using a small screwdriver and hammer. In fact, I am getting ready to have a drink.

I think you can use a knife to pull out the cork. I think it is little easy to pull out the cork using a knife.

That is what I did last March. It was very difficult actually. I have figured out how to do it easily. I used a small screwdriver and a hammer. And hammered the cork down into the bottle. It was very easy and took minutes or less.
