Mug shot and finger printing...

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ruled the land for a decade. She kept mum whenever she was accused of doing something not right, like talking to an election commissioner, which, as candidate for a post, was prohibited by law. The only words she muttered, which, probably was an effort to stop the talk, were "I am sorry!" Explanation? Nada! And whenever the president's men were summoned for inquisition, she would simply invoke a presidential prerogative, an executive order gagging her men from shedding light. And by golly, the NBN ZTE deal, which was exposed by techie guy Jun Lozada, implied that she and her husband would go to any length just to satisfy greed and lust for power. There were several attempts the former president (she was, to me, never president), to manipulate the law in her favor. She even occupies a seat in the House of Congress. Alas! There is a far greater Power than you and I. And GMA as well. After all her handiwork as ruler of the land, she is now not even capable of holding her name plate for a mug shot, and the hands that signed executive orders were inked for finger printing.

Her sins have finally caught up with her. I just hope that she will not try to have another tactic of "paawa" again. It's time for her to answer all those accusations.

Another powerful politician comes crashing down. It seems to be true that the power and money of high office leads quite easily intyo corruption. This is supplemented by the arrogance of leaders that think they are above the laws of the common man. This is certainly not unique to any one country.

how ironic for CGMA. i bet she and her cohorts are thinking of the best salvo for themselves. what a twist of fate that the circular she signed for controlling people is the same one being used against her. tsk tsk the Great Being above is true to His promise that He will find justice for the oppressed and He will do it good. it maybe true she is depressed. who would not be, thinking that you have almost everything, even buying people to get what you want, and now you are at everybody's mercy?

You right, friend. Those executive orders she signed before will be apply unto her. All her efforts to protect her political allies and political connivance in crimes must now pay for the prize in what she did is wrong to the country... She is a terrible small. If she does a good example to the country. She will be free from any judicial issues today. I hope the rule of Law will be fair enough to tried her and convict her in whatever manners in the discretion of the court... The government must gather more concrete, sufficient evidence to convict her. So the efforts of the government to punish those person manipulating the election and other forms of criminal activities of the allies of the former President will not go in vain...

Karma catched up on Gloria Arroyo's nefarious activities. She betrayed Filipino people's trust on her. Now it is time for her to be held accountable for all the crimes she did even though she may use all the dirty tactics in the book to get away with the loot.

Seeing a wrong doer brought to law has a certain satisfaction.

Well I am just hoping that the present administration would hold on to their determination to make this case prosper. It took them so long to really made an effort and it all ended to election fraud. There are plenty of cases like the ZTE deal, fertilizer scam and many others but so far it all boiled down to election fraud. I just hope everything would start from here so that all the questions of the past administration would be answered. I think that the 9 years of rule had many evidences covered up already that it is hard to put it up on a court ruled by her appointees.

I am not holding my breath. I want to see the trial and hear the verdict before I plunged into it. For me, this is just the beginning and I want to see it end form this day forward. Interesting would be an understatement to describe this. Let us hope that from this point, it is all gonna be better.

Hi eileen, she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty but I just have this verses from the King James version of the Holy bible to share for people who did wrong and injustices as well as those planning to because they think they are so powerful that they are above the law or could get away with just about anything. Galatians 6:7-9 7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Yes my friends hope you remember these words just in case some of you here become very rich and powerful in the future, all of these is temporary and good deeds is always the best and you are right my friend, there is a power far greater than all of us

The wrong doings she did when she's in power are taking their toll on her. She is suffering from sickness and is ban from seeking treatment abroad because of the pending case agaisnt her. The only thing that bothers me is that, why would she be not allowed to seek the best medical treatment and be escorted to make sure that she will return after her treatment. It's kind of inhuman not to allow her to be cheked by spcialist inorder for her to recove. I think after all that's happening, she will be put to jail but let's first consider that she is also human and her life is as valuable as ours. I hope the Aquino administration will be enlightened and allow her to leave once and for all and have her escorted instead.

Hi there, I agree with your response. She deserves respect. I am not saying she is clean but if the present administration is making a clean and fair seek of justice then the a prudent way should rule out everything. It is not about denying a basic rights to seek best medical treatment. I pity Philippines with this situation. This is all a result of bitterness and revenge between clan rivalry whose hunger of power dominates above all. Those ordinary Filipinos were much influenced by media hype and over reporting. Each one deserves the truth but seeking the truth should go in a process of legal proceeding. Prudence in every people who handle this case from the justice to the President. I do hope. GMA in already pudlicy judged. Those accusations must be invistigated and untill not proven she is still innocent. The Aquino adminstration has been very vocal about this making GMA as corrupt and guilty of vote rigging. What else she can deny if she has already been tagged as guilty from the very start. I pity her too.

@jtj_hello: it looks like a simple solution, but the thing is our government will have no jurisdiction over any country that Gloria may want to go into so even if the government sent armed guards then they will be intercepted and sent home by that government. So basically like what happened to Ramona Revilla, if Gloria Arroyo succeeded in boarding a flight to any country, then we may as well say sayonara.

Philippine government really has become messy for the last few decades. makes me wonder if there would be some kind of change in the government that will make us a better country like it was a few decades ago during the time of Marcos.

Thank you greenpeas, for correcting the falsehood the Marcoses are attempting to sow now in the minds of the new generation. The Filipinos, I think, lack that trait of remembering the lessons in history, that is why we allowed it again in this Gloria Arroyo... Those of us who experienced the real fear in the Marcos dictatorship will never forget the evil proliferated that dark time in our Philippine history. Kudos to you, brother, will stand with you, kapit bisig, any time.

I guess i would rather live in a country where there are strict rules and people are afraid to disobey these rules because of the consequences that they may face. i may have not lived those days where you say the "worst" time for the Philippines but, as i see it now, where rules are disobeyed, personal interest cloud good judgement, people are to stubborn, because they are to obsessed of "freedom" which I think stands for "free" and "dumb". Greenpeas, is there really a community of Marcos loyalists? maybe I'll visit there someday when i have the chance.
