Manchester United got a major jolt to their title aspirations as they could only draw 1-1 against Newcastle United. The Newcastle back four and goalkeeper Krul were in magnificent form as they saved chance after chance from Man Utd. to save a point for their team. Man U went ahead with a very lucky goal which ricocheted of Javier Fernandez with Krul committed to the other side. But then Newcastle gave a lucky penalty which Demba Ba scored to level the match. Despite having Guttierez sent off, Newcastle held on heroically to get a point out of the match!! Cheers! Ram

What about how Newcastle Stopped Every shot Man U made in the second! It was like most of the match was played in New Castle's end. And The one goal they thought they had was called back on a offside so blatant That even I could see it! It was like New Castle put up a force field and no Man u Kicked or headed ball could cross. But my all time favorite was the save in the 86th minute . The Defensemen stopped the ball Just in time. When I said I thought New Castle Had to play Every minute of the match , I had no idea they would really do it. But they did. Now I hope they can keep this up. They have Chelsea next? Yikes.

Yes, the goal mouth clearance was really hot stopping stuff. The goalkeeper Krul was also in great form yesterday. His point blank saves from two headers late in the game kept Newcastle in the game. There are days when you play very well and yet do not get the result. For Man U, it was one such day!! Cheers! Ram

I think the key was the desperate defense by Newcastle. Man U literally threw everything at them. But they could not get the decisive goal. Cheers! Ram

The game had a terrible decision which should never have been given. Tim Krul was excellent in the goal for Newcastle United but the result should have been different.

Tim Krul and the back four had a great game. But of course that penalty decision was horrible. Newcastle cashed in. Cheers! Ram

Something rare happened in the match. We have seen many iron-cast penalties not given to the away teams at Old Trafford. And yet, Newcastle was given a dubious one. Having said that, Man Utd seems wobbly at the moment. They are not firing as they were earlier in the season and their defense looks scrappy. Ferguson will have plenty to think about during the January transfer window period.

Absolutely, they are looking wobbly. I think the problem is that they are conceding goals. Of course, this time around it was off a dubious penalty. But this would really be getting Sir Alex worried. I think he needs long term replacement for Ferdinand and also for Gary Neville. Cheers! Ram

My prediction was accurate 100%, even the fact that I said that I think that Newcastle will score from a set piece, which happened, as the penalty is also a set piece. This are the times when I could kick myself, why I haven't put some money on it. It would have certainly given me at least 7 times the money bet, so it would have been a good win.

Yes, you were spot on. Should probably have bet on this match. But Man U simply hammered Newcastle. But they held on despite going a man down. There were goal line clearances, great goalkeeping by the goalkeeper and desperate defending which helped win a point for Newcastle. Cheers! Ram

In games like this, such things are to be expected. Getting a point from the Old Trafford for opponents is a rare thing during a season, so I guess Newcastle must be congratulated for their heroic performance.

That is football. The better team didn't win tonight. Newcastle played well. I really hope them will continue their form and try for a top 6 finish. I was excited with the last minute goal but it was just not to be. Giggs was always menacing when he had the ball. Young was not as good as in his earlier season matches. Nani didn't play that well - Valencia would have changed the flow of the game. Fabio was as usual, careless in tackles. Today is not Manchester's day but I hope tomorrow is Liverpool's.

Yes, that is football and that is why we love it. Fabio was actually playing well going forward, but was giving away stupid free kicks which was really relieving the pressure for Newcastle. Let's see how Liverpool play today. Cheers! Ram

My son says, Manchester United shouled have won, because Ba's penalty was not a penalty, and Chicritos ofside goal was onside, but oh well lets hope liverpool do usd a favour tommrow and keep the gap at 4 points so United can overtake in the next few weeks. And thats from a big Man u fan

Yes, you son is right about Ba's penalty not being a penalty. The other one of Chicarito was a very very close decision, but I guess the referee just about got it right. I also want Liverpool to win as then it allows all the other teams below to move up a bit and it makes it more interesting at the top. Today Chelsea has already won, so has Tottenham. If Liverpool and Arsenal win, then it would be great. Cheers! Ram
