What does your cat eat?

I know there are so many choices out there. I have two. One is my black and white kitty named MawMaw. She mainly eats dry cat food very seldom can I get her to eat canned. On the other hand Tink knows he gets his can of Fancy Feast at 7pm SHARP! I have the both of them on Purina Natural with Vitamins and Minerals and has a hairball treatment in the mix. Then I switch between the 3 flavors of the Fancy Feast for their different dry cat food. My question is do any of your cats eat tuna, or chicken or salmon if you were making some? I have made all kinds of fish and they turn their nose up at it. Offered them bits of chicken and of course with it being Thanksgiving offered a few bites of turkey. they would turn up their noses and eat dry food over any type of food we would eat. I just find it strange when my grandparents had a farm and the cats ate whatever was leftover from breakfast (milk gravy, biscuits, eggs, smoked jowl etc) Tonight I was watching a movie and had a plate of stuffing and baked beans and leftover turkey and mawmaw actually come up and sat and looked at me on my recliner. Of course I did not think she would even touch any but I gave her a tiny bite and she ATE it. She ate several bites. If I offer it to her again it is most likely she will turn her nose up on it. Do your cats eat from the table often and what do they seem to like if so?

We will make the fish with rice as the food for our cat. But today we mainly feed her with cat food. Besides this, we don't feed her other kinds of food. I ever heard a friend who comes from Denmark and he told me their cats could eat potatoes. This is very interesting. I think the cats have different diet habits according to different areas. I love China

From reading these responses I think you are right. And then there are the feral cats that don't have a clue what cat food is as they are fighting just to eat anything to survive.

My cats were strange eaters. They didn't like fish, but ate most other people food, including fruit and yogurt. I gave them refried beans one time because I don't like them, and they wouldn't eat it, so I figured I was right. I gave them dry food because it was cheaper and they could eat a little bit at a time. On special occasions I gave them canned food and they loved it! They would get excited everytime I used the can opener.

I switch brands all of the time. Whatever is on sale or I have a coupon for. It is usually some kind of Purina brand. Meow Mix seems to make them throw up more and they won't eat the store brands or other really cheap kinds.

I also prefer buying dry foods than canned foods because of their price. If I don't have money to buy them dry foods, I would usually feed them with our leftovers. What brand of dry food do you use?

All of our cats and kittens live outside. They get the dry cat food. We use to buy certain brands, now we look for the ones with a good protein amount in them. They also get table scraps, etc. It seems they are always hungry. But, they can be very fussy at times.

I don't know who teaches these cats to be fussy. If they won't eat something I tell my husband to leave it there until they eat it and don't give them anything else. But, needless to say he gives them something else. And if they don't like that brand, he will finish feeding it to them, but buy another kind for them. The only way our cat get canned cat food it if I get it as a freebie from a freebie site on the internet.

who teaches these cats to be so fussy and particular with their food? I remember mom made me clean my plate even if I did not like what she was serving!!! My girlfriend in Canada has a cat that will not touch any kind of cat food canned unless its the shredded. So when I send her a gift I will always send Jasper a couple of cans and a new kitty toy.

Thanks for sharing us about your cats. :) I had been waiting for you to tell us something about them. I have no pets here at home but we will have again, I would prefer to have cats than dogs. I think cats are cute, sweet and cuddly. Unlike dogs who seems to bark always.

I had a chihuahua for 11 years. he was born on Thanksgiving day so whatever day thanksgiving turned out to be I would celebrate his birthday LOL His name was Buddy and he barely ever barked. if someone come to the door he would look at me like "Are you gonna get that?" (reminds me of my husband)

In our home we have three cats. two boys and one girl. They are so cute and tiny. We often gave them food twice a day. They are bubbly with brown and white fur and a blue eyes. They usually eat bread and rice with shredded chicken. They also loved chopped hotdogs with mashed potato. We really pamper our cats. From time to time they jump in our table and ate our dinner but they really just want to have a quality time with them.

My cats would pretty much eat whatever you offer them. Their favorite is chicken. I notice that they purr so much when give then a share of our chicken, they would even eat the bones! Before that, I don't know that cats can eat chicken bones. They also love shrimp and canned tuna. Once in a while I but them some canned tunas and they prefer eating that than their dry foods. One more thing they love to eat are chips. I was eating potato chips one day and to my surprise, my cat jumped on me and begged (meowed actually) for some of my chips. I don't know if this is healthy but they loved it.

Please don't give your cats bones. thats how I wound up losing my little chihuahua. he always got a pork steak bone. it lodged in his intestine and he had to have emergency surgery. he only survived overnight. I was so disheartened. I felt I killed my pet. Its a horrible feeling to lose your pet and have a 1300.00 bill on top of it. Be very careful also of the salt that is in cans of tuna and the chips. My elderly neighbor was giving her cat tuna 3 times a day. He almost quit peeing in his kitty box. Her vet told her to stop giving it to him. She is 85 and she would do as he says for a week or so then forget and go get tuna for the kitty again. Poor Kitty!

All three of our cats eat dry food. On occaision when we want to give them a special treat we give them some wet food. We have one cat that can only eat Meow Mix, everything else we gave him made him sick so all three get to eat that, salmon flavored, they dont like the other flavors of meow mix.
