Hello sheetal2900, If you are going to put the icing on the cake the next day. Yes you can put the cake in the ice box if you wanted too. but the cake needs to be cover so it want dry out. If you have no way covering it, get a big pot and put over the cake after you put it in the Ice box. The cake really don't need to be refrigerated over night. you can cover the cake over night, Good Luck ,

Royal icing hardens and therefore there is no problem that it will be spoilt if the cake is wrapped in aluminium foil.Auminium foil retains the freshness of the cake as well. There is a chance however that ants may make a feast of it. You need to place the wrapped cake in a large plate and the plate placed on a stand which in turn would be placed in water.

You can definitely put the cake on the refrigerator as long as it will be just over night. The royal icing can look iffy when you store it in the fridge for a long time. There is a certain temperature that a royal icing will store well but it will be totally fine in the fridge for a short period of time.

The royal icing will perfectly cover the whole cake (if your planning to cover it completely) that will preserve the moistness of your cake. The royal icing will just harden (it should harden when put to a cold area). I don't think it will ruin your decoration if your planing to decorate the cake after the royal icing have set because you need it set first before proceeding to the next step of decorating the cake. Hope this help... have a great day
