Bad..bad tattoo!

So over the Thanksgiving weekend I went to a friend to get a tattoo. He has been tattooing for almost two years and is saving up to get his own shop. I have one tattoo by him that is just the way it is supposed to look. My SIL has two by him and a brother has three all looking how they should. So I went to him to get another one done and he messed it up soo bad. Not to mention it is on my fore arm where everyone can see it. I am so disappointed and quite mad. He will not even admit it looks bad keeps saying that it's just fine and it's not. It was supposed to be a yellow and bronze Mason star and it is uneven black and brown! He was mad because I would not pay for it and let me slide only because I think we had so many other friends there telling him that he really did mess it up and it was wrong for him to charge me. A few even told him he should pay for someone to fix it. I agree but is it worth going after him for it? I don't know I have enough stress right not to have to deal with this. Just so sorry I trusted him... Anyone else been this stupid and trusting? Am I the only one?

As a responsible artist and to maintain his reputation, this man should offer to pay for a fixing or cover up if a fix is not feasible. I had a friend who's tattoo did not work out, he tried to fix it several times himself and in the end offered laser treatment payments to have the tattoo removed. This guy has a generally good reputation and it was a side of the hand tattoo which can be difficult to get to take properly. As a result of this, he is still getting good referrals from that girl because he offered to do whatever it took to sort it out, as should your friend.

Well this guy is not. I have to wait to get it covered as we do not have the cash right now. Hopefully before spring and short sleeve shirts. It has been looked at by someone else and will be difficult as his mess up wasn't just the design but he tattooed it badly and the skin has bad scarring.

Once I have it done I will send him the bill. But when the guy I am talking to now saw it he was upset by the scarring that happened becasue he did it so bad. We have to work around it and with it instead of fixing it because of it.

Sorry to hear that he's such a jerk. I would be pursuing him for the cost of the cover up at another studio.

He should at least pay half of what it would cost to fix it. Especially if everyone else is agreeing it looks bad.

I have tattoos on my body. but I have many friends who do not like tattoos because they look not bad quality do not think that you only just have to not trust anyone. not everyone can work as professionals just need to know how to study them and learn next time not to trust strangers. now you can remove this tatuk but you come out salty you know. nice day!...

I don't think going after him would work tattoos are risky because you never know how they will look I would let it go and try to get it removed

It will be both cheaper and better looking to have a cover up done or have it fixed. It is not so far gone as to not be fixable or covered. Removing is very painful and leaves a very ugly scar on most. Thats why many have a new tattoo put over the spot.
