My female cat has suddenly become hostile toward all our other cats. We have 3 other cats and she growls and attacks them when they are anywhere near her. We are mystified about this change in her behavior. Have you experienced this type of thing with any of your cats?

I didn't bring a new cat in my house but my cat sometimes mean to other cats too and also to her kittens, but her behavior are temporarily, after a while she was nice again to her kitten and no problem to other cats. i always thought that it was her period when she start to mean to other cats and kitten.

Interesting. I hope my cat's bad attitude is also going to be temporary.

Our cat is a biter and the only reason she is not it now is because she is pregnant. Is she hostile towards the females or males? Does she have kittens? Then she is protecting them, otherwise it could be a territorial thing.

Her kittens are grown, and she is spayed, but I think it is a territorial thing because we have taken on a new cat recently and that's when her trouble started. What bothers me is she is as nasty to her kittens as she is to the newcomer.

Is she an older cat? I have an older cat that at first got along with my dogs and my one other cat very well, but lately she has been growling at them every time they get a even a little too close to her. Every day more then once a day for the passed couple of weeks. I've tried yelling at her and hitting her lightly on her paw just enough to let her know that shes in trouble but she goes right on growling at them no matter what I do.

My cat is not quite 2 years old yet, but the way your cat is behaving sounds very similar.
