I love our firemen they are just so active in the community. Usually they come around on the truck with Santa and give out huge bags of candy and oranges to the kids but for the flood victims this year they did this breakfast with Santa this morning, invite only. Each family got an invite from Santa. We are so thankful to them for everything since this flood happened. The firemen and fire-men's wives club did so much from hosting the Red Cross, serving food, pumping houses and helping to rip stuff out of the disasters. We are very thankful for them. They had parents pick out scarves that the wives embroidered with the kids names (one each kid) on the ends then put them in ornaments for us to put on the tree after everyone is in bed Christmas eve. Then Santa had a "talk" with all the kids about looking for something special on the tree this year for all his little flood victims. Just a cool thing to help the kids. There was more for us though and so thankful about it too. As in my first post about this I stated how my six year old has been asking Mall Santas to send elves to our house to rebuild it so she can go home. So when at this special breakfast my Daughter told their Santa or ask I should say about him sending elves and he handled it so well (he is an old neighbor of ours and knows our children well) he told her has been. He then named the firemen who have been at the house (including himself) at least once a week helping us, not to mention a few he knew to be there from our church. He said his elves are so busy he hired extras but told them not to tell and that they where working as hard as they could to get us and others home as quickly as possible. She was in total awe. She then told everyone else she saw there how great Santa is and is so happy!. Now I can see Christmas in her eyes..
