How can you get the attention of the kids?

Most of the time kids are not paying attention inside the classroom. Often, they wanted to play rather than to learn there lesson. Aside from the the strategies that learning should be fun inside the classroom what are some or those styles to catch the attentiveness of individual students. Assuming that your students are grade school.

What might be good is to let them think they are 'helping you look for the answer.'

You should start getting their attention by being strict inside the classroom the first day of school. first impressions last. but once already in the middle of the school year, having plenty of quiz /exams in a day will surely attract attention to them. It will annoy your students, but it is sure to get there attention specially in a very populated classroom.
