Is it okay for a person to have two paypal accounts with different emails ids and two different bank accounts but under the same name. Or will we be banned if we do so. Have been trying to find out about this but did not get the information anywhere. Does anyone have two paypal account?

It is VERY easy to find out the definitive answer from the PayPal site by using the excellent Help system: "Can I have multiple PayPal accounts? Yes. You can have one Personal account and one Premier or Business account. You can add more email addresses, debit or credit cards, and bank accounts to your account, but each account must have its own email address and financial information. You can also upgrade your Personal account to a Premier or Business account." http://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/main.jsp;jsessionid=QxldTdxJ3yTM9yLgsSGgvh4lHfn38JjgKPYTTLL8s7PXRfT01Qkf!-1667391597?locale=en_US&_dyncharset=UTF-8&countrycode=IN&cmd=_help&serverInstance=9016&t=solutionTab&ft=browseTab&ps=solutionPanels&solutionId=12730&isSrch=Yes

Basically, the difference is in what you are using it for. With a Business account, there are more facilities available, like a Shopping Cart, if you have a website which sells anything. With a Premier account, you will have certain other benefits. With either, you will expect to pay charges for certain kinds of transactions. It is actually these charges which help to maintain PayPal as an essentially free service for many people. If you think of PayPal users as YOUR customers, then, by paying the fairly reasonable charges which PayPal impose on business users, you are making it easier for people with PayPal to do business with you and are, in effect, paying PayPal for that benefit. The 'shopping cart' (which Paypal provide free for anyone who wants to use it) is another incentive and benefit because it makes things that much easier for your customers and accepts normal debit and credit cards, even if they don't have a PayPal account. You could, otherwise, expect to pay a considerable amount for a 'shopping cart' facility. PayPal make one available for nothing.

You can sign up two PayPal account, one personal and premier account or one personal and business account. One bank account can not be used in two different PayPal account at the same time. You may remove your bank account from your premier account and add to your new personal account. Or you can add another bank account to your new PayPal account.

The Bank account may be different but the rest of the details like the PAN number etc will be the same. Is that allowed? I think I have to find out more about the premier and business account also because I do not have much idea about this.

I never thought of that. So it is possible that a paypal user can use 2 different paypal accounts at the same time? Quite interesting.

I don't know if you can. I don't think you can. I know paypal is very secure and they may think it would be a breach in their security. Why would anyone want to have two paypal accounts anyways? I know how secure paypal is because I used my sister's laptop computer once to cash out some money from my paypal account to my bank account and since I was using a computer with a different IP address they phoned me to make sure it was me before they sent the money. It's a good thing I gave them my phone number or I wouldn't have received my money and I wouldn't have known why. Then I had to go through all kinds of screenings and stuff before they would allow me to use my paypal account again. I will never withdraw money from paypal on a different computer again because it is a big hassle. Cheers and happy mylotting , Chris

Actually some else wanted to use one of my bank accounts for her online earnings because she does not have one. So if the bank account in on my name then the paypal account would also have to be on my name. And since I already have a paypal account linked to another of my bank accounts I was wondering in what way to help her.

Hi mayka, I am an Indian so I will share my experiences with you. I did have two accounts at one point of time. But that was because the old one remained inactive for a real long time, and I was not sure it was worth reviving. In the meanwhile, one of my friends opened a new account for me. So I am now stuck with the new one. The old one, paypal refused to let it remain active because Paypal needs to link the account with a PAN number. Funny thing is they were linking only one account with the pan number. That was my experience. So I finally closed that account. I think you will face the same situation. The other alternative is open a joint account with somebody who does not have a paypal account, and use their PAN number this time. Ensure that the names mentioned in the joint account with paypal tally perfectly with the names on the joint account in the bank. That is the best suggestion I could offer. Right now, papa's account is limited. He is so upset. :) He has provided clarifications several times over, and spoken to the concerned people thrice. But still nothing has moved. Perhaps they do have a lot of workload. It still doesnt justify this much delay.

Hi Vandy, did your papa finally manage to solve his problems with paypal? Or is the matter still on hold?

I think when it is joint account, Paypal would accept the same PAN number. I am not sure. Life is the best person for such details.

But can we submit the same bank details to all the paypal accounts that we have. i though that it would be a problem giving same bank details to multiple accounts. I do not want to end up being banned from paypal.

Hey inti, you can set up as many paypal accounts as you want till you do not verify yourself. Paypal has strict policy of one personal and one business account per person i.e. per PAN no and Bank account.

I live in Canada so I don't know about the rules in India but I would assume they are pretty close to being the same everywhere, no....I have only been working online, sites like mylot and doing surveys, so I have only had a paypal account for about 6 months now. I know I had to give them my bank account information so if I gave them the same information on two accounts then they would question it I am sure. Why would you want to have two accounts anyways? Are you cheating on sites and signing up to them with two accounts and you want two different paypal accounts so they don't see it is you? lol littlemissy here signing off for now, talk to you later my friend

No I am not cheating on any sites or dont have two accounts in any one site. But there was someone who wanted to work online but did not have a bank account so was asking me whether I could use my bank account for her online earnings. I have two different bank accounts and I use only one for my paypal earnings. So was wondering if to help her I could open another paypal account in my name for her and link it to my other bank account and let her use that money.

I was just kidding about the cheating thing, I just couldn't think of why anyone would want two accounts but now I understand why after you explained it to me. Thanks my friend.

You can attach as many email addresses as you want to your email account so you really have no need to have more than one paypal account. I have payments coming from different sources to different emails and they all end up in my one paypal account.

I think the PAN number has tobe of the same person as the account holder. I do not think the account can be in one person's name and the PAN in another.

Yes you can have 2 accounts in paypal. All the details must not be the same except for Personal Details.

Dude think yourself. More than one person can have same name. Can they both open separate paypal accounts? You will find you answer. As long as you have different PAN number, Bank account, and Email address, you can open as many number of paypal accounts as you can. But the problem is of PAN number, because a person can have more than 1 bank account but he cant have more than one PAN card. Hope it helps.

Even I have doubts if we can verify both our accounts if we have two. If we are not able to verify the other account how can we claim that payment?
