Final update on the dog rescued last week.

It's been quiet lately with information lacking on that poor dog I'd found. His owner had until today to come forward to get him, but never bothered to claim him. But that's ok, his owner clearly didn't care about the dog. I had the tab up on his animal ID at the shelter, so I could see if anything changed, and this morning, his page had been pulled. That got me worried, so I emailed the lady at the rescue. I never heard back from her, so I posted a message on their Facebook page. You can imagine my surprise when they told me what the story with the dog was. The shelter staff named him St. Nick, which is fitting for this time of year. I don't get to foster him, but I found out that he's gone to a retriever rescue, and that's a good thing. He'll find a good home with them, I know that for sure, so that makes me happy. I wanted to foster him, but it just wasn't meant to be. I hope St. Nick finds a great home to live out the rest of his life, however short it might be.

Oh I am so very happy to hear this. It sounds like he will be going to a good home where he will be loved & cared for. It's a shame the way people treat their animals. I'm just glad that this dog had been rescued & found by you. You have made my day. Thanks so much for posting this update on the dog.

With animals I love to hear happy ending, so many bad things happen to them because of humans, they all deserve a good life and hopefully this little dog will find a good loving home and you are a good person for caring, the world should have more people like you...blessing to you.

hi kris182 oh dear sorry you could not foster St Nick but sounds like he gets a great home to live out the rest of his life so that is good news,.I hate it when they euthanize dogs and cats. so sad as there are people who do want pets if they just know about them. it sounds like the owner could not have 'cared less about the poor dog. sad too.

I think it's great they found a place for that poor dog after he had been through so much. St. Nick is a neat name for a dog and I think that he should be happy with the rescue folks. Thanks for sharing the info!
