Lunar Eclipse is Bad for Pregnant Women

December 10, 2011 9:09am CST
We are witnessing now a full lunar eclipse in the sky and it is a common belief of a number of old folks in our place to advice pregnant women to cloth themselves with black to protect the life of their unborn child. There is no scientific explanation to this phenomenon, yet it has been observed before that pregnant women who exposed themselves to a lunar eclipse would likely to deliver still born babies.I don't know if this superstitious belief is also observed in other countries or culture.

I looked to your profile but your country was unspecified there.Anyway I am from India and what superstition you talking about is very common here in this part of India. We dont know any scientific proof though But many people follow it just like that because they already takes so many precautions (including medical)so they take that as well just like that to avoid any risk.

I think it is not only in your country where people have a lot of superstitious beliefs.Chinese do have more that they have fengshui in almost everything that they undertake, from getting married to constructing houses and buildings.

oh,ok well yes I know superstitions are everywhere and even advance people follow some of weird superstitions.I think when we grow up in a society these kind of superstitions leave and strong impact on our mental screen.thats why many of us know that there is no logic behind any particular superstition but we still just try to follow that rather than taking risk to prove that wrong.

This is really nonsense. And what is a still born baby???? Things like this always exist for those who believe in it. Great opportunity for witches. It's the same as that there is more violence if it's full moon.. (btw you know there is exactly the same amount if there is no moon at all?).
