I just had a Roku box and am enjoying watching expired TV shows, especially Dragnet. Which I just finished watching all four seasons of. I also enjoyed watching some episodes of 227. Does anyone else have a Roku and enjoy watching the old shows? Or am I alone in this?

Well, this is timely. I have been considering buying a Roku but I wanted to get more information. What kind of channels do you get without a subscription? Do you subscribe to Netflix or Hulu and how much do they cost? When you are talking about Dragnet, dot you mean the original, filmed in black and white in the '50's (with Ben Alexander as Frank Smith) of the remake done in color in the '60's (with Harry Morgan as Bill Gannon)? Jack Webb was the star in both series.

Netflix also costs $8 a month. What I was also interested in finding out is what recent TV shows are on HULU versus Netflix. I think the best deal to buy a Roku is to buy it through Netflix but you also have to subscribe to Netflix. I am interested in Roku because my cable bill is pretty high and I'd consider going to basic cable just for local channels if I could get to see cable network shows form USA, Sy Fy, AMC, and FX.

I don't know what a Roku is, but I do have a classic cable TV channel called TVLand & some times I will watch old TV shows on that. I liked 227 well enough, but my all time favorite TV show were The Jeffersons. Have you ever watched that show? Mr. Jefferson was played by the actor Sherman Hemsley & he was hilarious. I never laughed so hard as when I watched that show.
