Hello everybody! Well, since I have reached my 100 posts, I gained my star and reputation mark,it's 8 for now, but I hope it will get bigger with time and my activity here on MyLot. So, as far as I know stars and your reputation mark are decided by the people of MyLot who rate your comments, discussions, responses, images, etc..? I've read on faq that MyLot encourages us to rate everything we find suitable for rating. Before, this hadn't been my habit and I didn't rate much of the comments and stuff, but from now on I'll make this one of my priorities. What about you? Do you rate everything you can or are you the kind that didn't even notice those marks next to every comment, or you just don't try to bother yourself with rating other people? Happy MyLotting, and I hope somebody will rate this, either good or bad, it doesn't really matter :)

I look at it that if a discussion is worth me posting in then it is worth being rated, I just by-pass anything that does not deserve to be rated...

I usually see some discussions that interest me and those where I think I could give a good answer, but I never rated a discussion yet, it was more important to me just to answer to discussion than to think about anything else..

Just like you.I never comment others' response or discussion before I join MyLot. After become a member of MyLot, I begin to comment and rate. I think this is my biggest change in mylot now. Maybe I will be more active in the future if I stick to it,Ha Ha~

Well you should stick to it, this is a great site with great people, and there is a lot to do here and to lose some time, and even earn money doing that. good enough for me, if they want me to rate somebody, I'll rate it, whatever they tell me to do to earn money, probably I'll do it :)

Yes, I do rate very good and witty discussions. Same also with those great and appropriate responses and comments. It is really a nice habit to rate others positively because it means that we appreciate their responses or the discussions that they are making. Although, sometimes, I mus admit I forget to rate others. Especially when I don't have much time in the internet or is already feeling tired. But I do try to rate others as much as possible. Good for you that you already reached that mark. I hope you get the blue start quickly and be really happy myLotting!

For now I am happy with both the site and the people around here, there are some really great persons I met here and had a talk with them. Can I know when somebody rates my comment or response? I know I get a notification when someone marks my response as the best, but for those - and + do you get some notice?

hi menzis00 I sure do as it helps all of us and too our reputations are figured in with the earnings algorithm so the higher our reps and stars the better we earn so yes we are all supposed to rate as we post on others discussions and as we comment on others responses. I do this as a matter of habit and encourage others to do the same all the time. 'it helps all of us to earn better too

Hi Hatley! Well then, I guess I better start rating all these comments :D yeah, I've read that the reputation is considered when calculating how much you earn..Anyway I hope my reputation will come near to a hundred soon,as soon as I start to rate others..

I rate regularly. If I feel it is a worthwhile discussion I will rate + whether it was started by a friend or not. Since we are only allotted 11 rates per day, sometimes I run out of +'s.

I never know we are allotted only 11 rates per day, because English is not my native language. So my reading is very slow. Thanks to make me know it. :)

True that, I didn't know it either. Well I don't use up those 11 rates so you can have mine if you wish lol :) Anyway, have you never rated someone with a -? Or do you rate only positive comments?

Wow, lucky you. I have still got a long way to go to reach a hundred posts. Now, thinking about this rating thing, i never thought about it but now that you have mentioned it, i will start concentrating more it. Thanks for the nudge.

Hi! Well, just follow your way and you'll reach them in no time! Be active, keep answering to people's discussions and topics. It's not such a big problem to reach 100, it's important to keep your activity after that. I really admire those people that have a lot of posts, like 10 000 or even more. Also, I'm glad that I made you think about rating other, it was my intention in the first place :)

HEy menzis,I keep forgetting about the rate button.. Even though i have seen it many times,i haven't got the feel of using it many times...I might find most of the posts here interesting or pretty bad but I never think of rating it... I think i have a quite more to learn about mylot before i get down to these things.. Maybe once i get to know more about the ratings and probably after using it for sometime, i would be using it more...

Hi! We have the same problem, I also keep forgetting to rate people, that's why I made this discussion, to see how many of you out there are the same, and to in a way remind you to keep rating people and to make MyLot a better community altogether. I guess it just takes some time to get used to all the things you can do here, later probably it will be just a normal activity you won't even notice..

I can't say that I rate other people's discussions, comments, etc., very often. I have done it a few times, but it's not something I do often. It's just not something that I think about doing very often.
@menzis00 (273)

Well maybe we all should do it more often to make MyLot an even better community! I'll start rating, it's just the problem is I don't remember to do it, so I hope slowly this will come into my mind and become my daily routine..

I always rate every topic that I am posting my response. I always rate all the comment/s that i received from my topic/s. But I do not rate every comment from other mylotters topic...-that's too much for me. heheeh

Well you cannot rate apsolutely everything right? But good for you, rating every comment and stuff you can is really good and helpful to this MyLot community.. I hope you will be my example and that I'll start doing it too..

I have to admit that I have fallen out of habit of this, except on my own started posts. I feel that I have more of a right to judge what is written in response to what i write than what others have written on someone else's post.
@menzis00 (273)

You are right, I agree with you. It is a lot easier to rate comments that are responses to discussions we started than to rate comments to other discussions, I think it's maybe the best to leave the comment rating to the starter of the discussion, unless of course you have the urge to rate it because you found it amusing, good, helpful etc..

I rate when the post is really helping me. I discussion and responses when i find the topic is interested. I start a new discussion when i need to ask :)

I usually start discussion when I want to see what other people think about certain thing that interests me, like this one did. And I usually rate comments on my discussion that are of good quality and really follow the discussion. Also I response to someones discussion if I feel like I know something about the thing the discussion is led, or if I think I could make a good comment or express my good opinion on the topic that is discussed.
