This sounds to be a very serious punishment

Tonight I watched the news from Hong Kong. It will have a new law. That is if you drive after taking the drugs like heroin, cannabis, head-shaking pills etc., then you will have a serious punishment. Especially you make this mistake again, then you can't drive for at least 10 years or even you can't drive forever. I hope people will pay attention to it. It shall be careful to drive since it is not only good for yourself, but also others. This punishment seems to be very serious and hopefully it can really prevent some people to make this mistake.

You can only hope that it will stop people from driving while they are impaired on anything at all. Unfortunately the ones that are impaired don't use good judgement and it seems as if some are determined to drive once they are high or drunk. They always seem to think they can "handle" it. Then there are the ones that don't care if they have a license or not...they'll drive anyway.

I hope the serious punishment will avoid it.

As fa as I am concerned, there is no punishment too severe for driving while under the influence. Good for Hong Kong for passing the new law.

I like it! Being drunk or high and driving doesn't mix! Is there a punishment if you are caught driving After you are deemed not to drive the first time? I hope if you are caught that seconf time you get thrown in jail!

We have pretty serious punishments here for driving under the influence. It is amazing though that some people have lesser punishments than others sometimes. I think that if we didn't have the punishments here that it would be a lot more dangerous to drive but there are still alot of people who drive under the influence anyway. I hope that the law works out good where you live.

This is one of the best road rules once implemented. This will lower the road accidents and will make every driver a responsible one.

Hi! I think they should ban the use of heroin, cannabis, head shaking pills or any ecstasy pill rather than punished the driver, if they can stop people from using these, they should be able to reduce more accident. However, I think 10 years jail should be better than stop them from driving, because they know they have consume the pill but yet still try to drive and did not care about the public safety.

I think the government has decided the law correctly. Reckless drivers should be punished and by introducing the law, people will definitely pay careful attention. Because they do not want their driving license to be confiscated for just one night.
