My Boss saw me myLotting.. Had a close shave...

Dear fellows... I was just caught.. Let me explain.. I sit alone in my bay... As there is no one else, I do a lot of myLotting on a different system than mine, during the 4-5 hours when I am alone. Just now, my Boss walked into my bay all of a sudden and saw me working on other system. He heard the keyboard going hard, he said and so he came to check... He asked me,'what are you doing?' I could have locked the myLot system and said I am doing nothing... But I knew it would be futile... So I thought I should tell the truth... And I did.. I showed him everything... And waited... He simply smiled and said go on... He just asked me to maintain my scores in the office. If I did that he would ignore what I am doing... I have never lost my scores, they are always above the criteria and nothing wrong ever (except for a foolish mistake last week)... I am so glad... I will now do a lot of myLotting without any trouble, as the boss knows about it... :) Thank God! It was a close shave... Have you ever been through such tight spots?? Your experience, please... :) Happy myLotting...

U are lucky to have a good boss, and u have yourself to thank as well. U have performed well in your work and that's why your boss chose to turn a blind eye to what u are doing in the office. If your performance is not satisfactory to him, he would have given u a lashing or even banned u from accessing sites outside of work. That's the same case for me, i allow my performance at work speak for me, and in return, i get more freedom compared to the others.

Hi.. Yes, my performance has been upto the mark... My boss had said this to me, if I maintain my scores, he would protect me... Because he has to answer for his team's performance... If the scores are up, he doesn't have to face things.. You see its all mutual thing. That is why he let me go... I'm glad to talk to you about this, as we have been through similar circumstances... Thank you!

You have a good boss, no doubt. But I am against login any of the social networking sites in the office. It will steal a lot of time . The Company is paying to the employee for utilising the maximum time for the office. We are paying for 8 hours and if we use only 6 hours only for the office work, then we are cheating the company. Others will follow you in such cases and they never follow you to score high in the office.

HI SimSim... Yes, he is a good and generous guy.. I am not really stealing anything... These days, we don't have work for half the time... And I utilize that time at myLot.. It is better to be busy with myLot than to get into dirty politics which goes on in the corporate world here... And it doesn't cost the company anything... It is a multi-billion company, I don't think my internet access will make a difference to them...

Hi Ifa... Yes, it is good to do a little lotting than to waste time in gossiping... Be careful... Not every boss likes this.. And even if your boss finds it, you don't have to worry. Just tell your boss that you're done with your job & now doing a little writing on the internet.. :-). Good Luck & Take Care...

Yes, he has been asking me about it since then... And probably, he will become a member soon... You see he has a lot of work and can't devote a lot of time to myLot... But I'll try to persuade him... Thank you!

I knew that my boss had ever seen me doing something all over my computer. I bought me a computer and each time he saw me online he just paid attention and asked me what I was doing. I just kept silence then he went to look into my computer and he knew I did mylotting. I was sure he didn't even have any ideas what myLot was, because I have never explained with him what myLot was?

Hi... I think you should let him know.. It is better that way... I know my boss is the one who's gonna save me if anything goes wrong in the office.. He had told me one thing in the beginning, Never To Lie... He told me to be frank with him and he promised he would take care of me...

Good suggestion. I considered that I didn't have to tell him what I was doing, since he too often looked at my computer but he never paid attention seriously what I was doing. Sometimes, he just glanced at my computer when I did typing. A few of my friend knew that I have joined online income or make money online at the internet. He is typically a good boss and he doesn't care about what I was doing, what he cared about the job or work we've been doing was everything ok. That's all he wanted to know from his employee and staff as well.

Hi Hatley... Thanks a lot for the advice... I admit that what I did wasn't right... I broke the rules.. And if my boss has been lenient then its only because my scores are always maintained and upto the mark... He won't interfere and would promise to protect, he said, if the scores were good... It has become kind of mutual understanding... And yet, your advice can't be neglected, as I'm going to change the job soon.. And I should not carry on my habit of myLotting while at work... Thank you!

Well, your boss cannot complain about it, because he knows you have maintained your scores in the office. And maybe he sees that you really have nothing more to do, so he just let you, so you will not be bored. Lucky you, my friend.

I'm sure I have but none come to mind at the moment. I think it was very brave of you to tell the truth to your boss. Anyone else might have immediately come up w/ a good lie, but you chose to tell your boss the truth instead. I'm sure he greatly appreciated that since that is a rare quality in most employees nowadays. Don't allow MyLot to interfere with your job though because you want to know what else is rare? An understanding boss ... LOL

HI Miss... thanks a lot... Yes, that was the best thing to do.. I couldn't think of anything else... He asked me about it in details before some time.. I guess, he will like to join mylot too... :) I wouldn't let anything interfere with my job, as when I have work, I don't think of anything else.. But it gets boring when there is no work at all... :(

I have been caught by my manager in the course of mylotting. He asked me what I am doing but I told him i am just trying to communicate. He smiled and left me. But I now do much of mylotting work at home especially when I am too busy with official job.
