Should the custodial parent's income be a deciding factor in how much the absent parent pays in child support?

If the custodial parent's income is more than the absent parent's it should be noted as such. The absent parent may not be making enough to make ends meet.

I don't think it should. My daughters dad quit his $20 hour job to get a part time one that pays $7 a hour cuz he wants his child support lowered when we go to court in Dec. This is his only child and he wants to pay me $20 a week instead of $85. She is 13 and it takes more than 20 to rise a girl.

You should document what he is doing and the court should be able to look and wonder why a man who made 20 and hr all of a sudden quits and goes to a part time job for 7 an hr i hope our government is not that stupid to fall for what hes doing.
