My friend's man would always tell me that this whenever he gets to be asked by his girlfriend (some numbers and woman's name on his phone would obviously give us girls a bad intuition... But He would say that its nothing. Of course my friend would get paranoid because he's obviously been caught with the act before and that for him it was just nothing... He said that ït is nothing and my friend need not worry and that she is just too paranoid already. For a man's point of view.. is it really nothing or it is something he is just hiding? this may depend case to case, but what do our mylot men think?

As you said, this differs from person to person. The person to know best would probably be your friend. Just try and analyze how he acts around girls and if he is loyal to your friend or not. Looking at his previous actions you will come to know if he really meant that it was nothing or if it something. To me, I would never cheat on my girl. Any girls' numbers I might have on my phone are probably just friends.

But at the same time, if your girlfriend happened to ask about the phone number, you would happily tell them exactly who it is, instead of just telling her it is nothing, right? See, that is the difference between a phone number actually being nothing, and being deceptive by saying nothing as the explanation.

I believe I say "it's nothing" for only two reasons, one being it really being just nothing to worry about and can be handled, something that doesn't really require time to be discussing about; and two, it being something I don't want to share and just keep to myself.

Nice insight, but putting yourself in the situation; if the first reason is true, then why not go ahead and discuss it anyway. You may feel its a waste of time, but your girlfriend may feel insecure about the situation. Helping her to know that its truly nothing can't be a waste of time discussing, can it?

It is hard to say. Probably it is really nothing. However, a girl will never think so. A girl will have lots of thoughts if her boyfriend or husband. The worse thing is they tend to have negative thoughts about it. I love China

I am a woman , but i do have something to say about this. Actually, when you caught your man fiddling on his phone about a text and he says nothing, it's not really nothing. You have to ask him who is it and what's it all about. If he stammers or says it nothing again, then he is up to something.

I don't know about men... but when a female says nothing that means there actually is something wrong. Why is it that only men are wrong? Females are equally naughty and can do wrong things. It is even in the case of normal day to day life that when a female says nothing...it actually means something.

For my points of view and I am a woman I think that he is just hiding something on his girl. Please tell her to observe more on her boyfriend

I'm not a man, but from a common sense standpoint he's hiding something. If the phone number were actually "nothing" as he says, he would be able to tell his girlfriend exactly who it is and why he has the number without blinking. But when a man will not explain about a certain piece of information, just brushing it off as nothing and no explanation follows, then its definitely something.

A woman will often go into numerous detail for a situation or event. a man will often say it is nothing if it is something that he would rather not talk about. it often depends on how strongly you feel on a subject to say it is nothing when it really is something.

I am a girl but i know that if man said nothing it means dont ask me any further.. Do you really want him or not? Is it the girls call him or he called. You see the difference if the girls call that means the girl try to funny if he call that means....your boyfriend work as what actually, if he is in the sales than ok la he calls the girls maybe he do business with them.

It's the same with us girls. When we say "its nothing" do we really mean it. Im my partner's case, he has used that phrase once, and that led to a fight.

I think he is little shy to speaks whatever is in his mind. Sometimes I also feel shy toward my family when I need to tell them through my telephone. I am sure that he will surely tells you what hew wants to tell becuase no persons cannot hide it for a long time.
