Singing along with music videos

I visit youtube once in awhile to check for good music videos to watch and listen to. My sister and I bonded today and sang along to old songs like Chris Daughtry's "Over You" and "when you say nothing at all" by Ronan Keating, which we replayed over and over, 'till we can memorize it. Do you do this too? I find it hard to control my voice when I sing. There are notes too high and too low for me to reach, -sigh- I wish I was good at singing.

I am the worst at singing, I can't even understand the notes! I wish I could sing as well, but I don't really care. I don't sing in front of people as this would be humiliating, but when there is a song that I like in a party or in a place where the music is too loud (in a concert for example) I sing loud and I am having fun with it!

haha, the perfect time to sing to the top of your voice is when there is so much noice, no one can complain whether you are bad or not. I do that too!
And the notes,

I do this sometimes. Lol. Every time I hear a good music, I try to search its video on youtube and lyrics on the internet. I sing along with the video. It is fun. I keep on doing it until I memorize the lyrics. I know I am not a singer so I just make sure that my voice is not loud enough. Lol. Happy new year!

yeah.. Lol. I am one of the worst singers. I can't hit the notes. I will sing loud if I have a good voice. Lol. Happy mylotting!

I am terrible at singing but I love to sing so I do it anyway. Sometimes I do sing along with the videos on youtube other times no. It just depends on what I feel like at the moment. My kids and I love to go on youtube and watch the videos of the songs that we like. Its awesome how you can just go on and type in whatever you want and find the videos.

Yes and you can also search for videos with lyrics on them!! It's a good way to help us memorize the songs and sing it along together with our family.

I prefer to just see the actual official video. Sometimes people put up slideshows of pictures of the singers etc and then just put the music to it. That is not for me. I dont enjoy those at all. I like when some videos have the lyrics but if I really want to know the lyrics I do an online search because a lot of times on youtube people dont look up the actual lyrics they put the lyrics that they think it says and sometimes its hard to figure out what the lyrics are saying so they put the wrong things. I dont want to learn the wrong words and look silly.

Hehe, I understand. It would be embarrassing to sing a song and get the lyrics wrong. Same here, I like watching the official music video most. If the lyrics are hard to understand, i search for a video with lyrics then go to the original music video again.

I love to sing along to my favorite songs but I am not musically inclined at all so I don't sing in front of anyone..lol. I do know that sometimes the music is set to certain notes that are comfortable for the singer to meet. Maybe we just need notes comfortable for our voices too.

Oh yeah,I used to do it also together with friends,when alone or sometimes with co-workers at the office.It somehow help to relieve from stress and relax for a while.I also could help to memorize songs that we like.I also enjoy listening into music and sing even though don't have that good voice lol.

Although I'm a terrible singer :D I always sing when listening to music, (of course if I know the lyrics) :D When I turn the volume up and take my phone and pretend it's a microphone, I imagine my self on stage in front of a multi-million crowd shouting to repeat the song over and over again :D
I think that singing helps allot, it improves your language skills, maybe not always, but it improves your memory :) BUT when some of my family members comes to my room, and I'm on the bed shouting with a random object in my hand, i just immediately turn red in shame and sit down:D

I think shyness can hinder improvement. Maybe you need to get rid of the shame and sing as much as you like, whether they like listening to you or not

Oh yeah, and like you, I can't sing either so it drives my son nuts when a song comes on and I know the the words.lol

It does ot matter if you are a good singer or not. singing along with a favorite music video makes it all right to be insync with the music or a little off key. Music is to ber enjoyed and music videos give you both the audio and visual appeal to enjoy youer favorite music and sing along.

yes , i do the same whenever i came across a new song across web. the singing along the music has made feel into the air fly which no hurdels in between, fluttering across the horizon playing with the beautiful colours and dancing with the clouds and wondering that all things i mentioned becomes true. that how is the music affects go with you.
