If you have a chance to write the future, even for a year in the future, what do you want 2012 to be? Do you feel hopeful that 2012 is going to be a good year? Do you have any expectation or goal that you want to accomplish in the coming year?

Well, realistically speaking, I'd like this year to be learning how to be stricter on my budget and for me cut at least $2000 off the principle of my debt. I want to learn to say no to my impulses when buying something.

Hi Masihi, 2012 will be a good year to earn money. If I am not wrong, the London Olympics will take place in 2012. The US Presidential election is also in 2012. I think just focusing on these two events, and you write a few articles on it, you can earn a few hundred dollars to pay off part of your debt. I hope that you can learn to use credit card to earn money, instead of chocking up debt. I have made more than $200 on my credit card already, and mostly not with my money! That is the best part of it.

i can only hope next year get better than previous. i just started new career in big oil/gas company. the environment is competitive and demanding, yet I'm very optimistic about the direction I have taken. I'm looking forward to expand my career to highest possible. Now I am very happy with my great family. And I am planning to travel to Europe for couple of weeks, just to enjoy and having the best time of my life when I am still healthy and energetic. amen

Hi Skyxie, congra on your new career. I am sure you have won over many other applicants to get such a great job. I think you will thrive in a competitive environment, or else you will not even want to apply for it. I think you can consider travelling to China in the future. It is more demanding to travel in China than Europe. Europe allows old people to travel in comfort, and the train reaches practically every place. But in the most remote and most beautiful parts of China, you may even have to push the vehicle out of the mud!

Hi Skyxie, you can go to the provinces that most tourists never even heard of. I suggest the western parts of China, where you can see the effect of Himalayan range on the culture of the people. Most people do not even know that the poorest province in China is Guizhou, yet this province has one of the top earning listed company in China. If you really want to go to Guizhou, make sure you train enough. Over there, you have to do a lot of walking. Scenery is fantastic, because this province is too poor to urbanize anything. But it also means you have to walk.

That's a great idea Scheng1. To travel to China and maybe India is my next plan after Europe.

Hi Thatgirl, I also have a feeling that 2012 will be a lot better for me. As a Chinese, the coming of Dragon year is good news by itself. This year and the last two were not really good year for me. I even had a day surgery for removal of a lump this year. I just hope that year 2012 will be enough to make up for the loss of income opportunities for the past three years.

Hi Mandylee, I had a minor surgery in 2011 too. I also hope to enjoy perfect health for a long time. Even though the surgery is painless due to the painkillers, and the recovery was rather quick, I still prefer to have good health. I wish that I can be healthy and wealthy too. Not just for 2012 but for the rest of my life.

Hi nezavisima, I have more ambitious goals than yours. I hope to get rich, very rich, so that I can donate millions and millions whenever I see the need to help people. It is great to see the rich people willing to donate so much money, and they do not even have to think about paying off their house or anything. For us, we have to think about taking care of our family needs, and ourselves, before thinking how much we can use to help others.

Hi Kalebtheman, I think you have two very major goals for this year. Perhaps you can postpone the desire to meet your soul mate until you have graduated from college. At least you can focus on your study, and not have anything to distract you. It is good to aim for the best college. You will have many friends who can help you in the future. Perhaps you get to meet the future billionaires, and government officers too.

I wish to have a very happy and healthy 2012. I hope to lose more weight and increase my fitness levels. I hope to be able to keep my bungalow clutter free. I am looking forward to my trip in March and April to Argentina plus Chile. I hope on it we will have an enjoyable time with fine weather. I like sunny days, cool times and no rain. In the summer I hope to continue developing my back garden in a hardy tropical style. My favorite months are from March to August: the spring and summer. I wish to have lots of coastal and countryside walks plus days out at that time of the year. I wish to stay safe and not have any accidents. Today I was tidying my disabled son's bedroom. His toy rocket fell down and gave me a sore eye. I wonder if I will have a black eye tomorrow.

Hi Maximax, you seem to have practically the whole year planned! Glad to hear that you are going to Argentina and Chile soon. i am sure you will lose weight by taking long walks in both countries. Just hope that you can control yourself, and not eat too much good food over there. Over here, it is hot and sunny throughout the year. Last week was a hot and sunny week, and today, New Year Day, is also hot and sunny. Maybe the monsoon season is really over.

i remain hopeful that the year 2012 will be very good. i am going to get married in that year. so for me, 2012 is very special. i am formalizing my vow and partnership with my woman. that is going to be the biggest achievement and challenge as well for me. we'll see. i hope for the best next year.

Hi Mensab, yes, I do think that 2012 will be very good too. If you marry in the beginning of 2012, you may have a chance to have a dragon baby by the end of the year. The dragon year will start on 23 Jan, and ends in 2013. Time enough for you to have little dragon. If you have twins, that will be even better.

If I was writing about events of 2012 that I wish were true I would be writing an article about how U.S. voters finally rebelled and changed a lot of the laws governing our governing bodies. I'd write how the people demanded and got a limit of one term for Congress and a law that punishes members with life in prison without parole for using inside information to play the stock market. I'd write about how no candidate was allowed any radio or TV time campaigning and money spent on elections was limited to the annual salary the office paid. I'd also write about how supreme court judges were no longer life appointees but could be elected by the people. In short, America's political structure was once again tailored to meet the needs of the people. The nation began to prosper once again, all religions were free to be expressed and employment was nearly 100% because of all these actions. In other stories I would write accounts of how warlords in Africa that starve their people while taking all charity donations for their own use were executed for their crimes and their former terror-stricken people are prospering. I would write about how the Muslim people rose up and destroyed their violent and hateful minority and how terrorist attacks worldwide were a thing of the past.

Hi Dragon54u, yes, I agree that changes are needed in US. It is high time that the people change the government into one that will work, not just talk. I think overhauling the whole legal system is a must. There are simply too many laws trying to protect too many people. it is not necessary to tell people to beware of hot water, since everyone should know that hot water can hurt us. Awarding million of dollars for scorching injury by spilling coffee or tea is simply ridiculous.

My main goal is to quit smoking and start working out a lot. These two are the most important for me currently and if I achieve them I'll be very happy. I think 2012 will be a great year like this one was for me.

Hi Tibor, both are very worthy and challenging goals. I hope that you have the courage to start and to sustain the effort. Both goals are very challenging, because once you give in, it is hard to pick up again. I think many ex smokers start smoking when they are facing great stress. You will have to find a substitute, otherwise you face the risk of relapse ten years later.

As I look positively for every new year that comes, I have reasons to be hopeful in the year 2012. My general expectation or goal is for everyone in the world to live in peace and prosperity. This is a lofty goal and therefore, requires Divine intervention. And my personal goal, given all the resources that I need, is to be more compassionate and responsive to the needs of the less fortunate. I would be more prayerful, and cling steadfastly to the Faith. Because faith without good deeds/works is rendered nothing.

Hi Jsmalong, actually divine intervention is already in place. But people must be in the right mood to receive the teachings. For many years, Americans did not believe in working hard, and yet they pushed for higher and higher salary, and getting into more and more debt. You can say that divine intervention causes the bad qualities to ripen, and now they are learning to save money, and to work hard and not demand a ridiculous salary for doing simple job. I think the lessons in all the religious teaching never go out of date. if we do not follow, then we will suffer.
