Happy New Year 2012 to you too as well. If 2011 was monumental because we won the world cup, lets hope that 2012 would be monumental because we win a series in Australia. Cheers! Ram

I also predict one more loss in second test also. And Sachin no century let him make 50+

Hi Elshaddai, We have won test matches in each of the last two tours of Australia. In 2007 we won in Adelaide when Rahul scored a double century. In 2009 we won in Perth when Ishaant Sharma bowled the spell of a lifetime. So it is not that we have not won in Australia. Of course, it has been a long time since we have won a series in Australia and that is what we need to set right. Cheers! Ram

The way India performed in its first Test, may I predict one more loss or draw. Sachin -- he will not be able to make 100th 100 because he has gone to Australia with his family and concentration will be not adequate. It is time Sachin is retired from test matches. this is my personal view.

I doubt a draw. There are two reasons for that. Aussie pitches usually mean a quick scoring rate and hence the chances of draw is very minimal. Secondly, both the batting line ups are fragile and hence I am pretty sure that there would be a result in this match if the weather does not interfere. Cheers! Ram

HI. I think India will win the game. Only if the Top and middle order will make good runs. Bowling has been absolutely Fantastic. i especially liked Umesh yadav and zaheer.zaheer was swinging the ball beautifully and did not ball to much of bad deliveries. Ishant sharma also bowled beautifully but i don't understand why he did not get wickets. everyone around the world, before the 1st test match said that India did not have any good bowlers. people were not sure whether they could take 20 wickets. but bowlers surprised them all. so i think if top order batsman got very good runs and bowlers do the job like they did in first test i am so sure that India is going to win the next match and level the series. and i hope sachin to get his 100th ton!!!

Unfortunately our batting has again let us down. We were bowled out for less than 200. In reply Australia have recovered from initial setback to be 116/3. Cheers! Ram

The new year does start with a bang as India take on the Aussies for Round 2 in Sydney. The Aussies are rejuvenated by their win (which they badly needed). They have regained their confidence, and with talks of Pat Cummins joining the team, things doesn't look well for India. Once again MSD's one-dimensional thinking has been exposed as his inability to cope up with the new ball. Strangely, India's bowling department did good. The pace trio of Ishant, Zaheer and Yadav is doing good, but much remains to be seen as Ishant and Zaheer have both struggled when it comes to fitness. Elsewhere, India's inability to bat in foreign soil continues. Gambhir's being flopping regularly (in tests), same with Dhoni, the much hyped Wall did get bridged (thrice), Sachin's failure-to-score-another-hundred-jinx still continues. But, that being said, being an Indian, am sensing a fightback. The Indians are capable of thrashing the Australians. Remember, the Aussies have their own problem. They are yet to find a successful opening pair and Nathan Lyon was anything but effective against the Indians. So lets hope Indians can give a fitting reply to the Aussies and start this year with a bang.

I think two things will come into play now. One is that Sydney would help the spinners a bit, so spinners would come more into play and that could go in favor of India. And traditionally Indian batsmen start to come into their own from the second match of overseas tours. So they will also start to come to the fore. But you are right, Dhoni would need to be aggressive with his captaincy if he really wants to win against the Aussies. Cheers! Ram
