I would really like too work on more of my online stuff, it's additional revenue and it is just great but, i don't earn that much a month and i can only afford the prepaid kind and it can get to about 1mbs but usually it ranges about 50 to 300 kbps so you see my dilemma but it's all good as long as i can work some how i guess it fine. So how bout you guys and gals out there how fast is your internet, hope it's not as slow as mine...

This may not be your problem, but the speed of a local exchange can be the limiting factor. My provider can provide speeds of up to 20, but they were quite up front about the fact that the maximum I can expect is 8, because that's the maximum speed my local telephone exchange will support. On the whole I find the sporadic overloading of my cpu/RAM to be more of a problem, which, for the time being, I'm prepared to live with.

Good idea to upgrade to 4 - I barely get away with 3.

I think the title of your discussion is the perfect description of what happens with broadband lines every now and then. The fact that there are limited servers, limited lines and of course different wire compositions means that when there are a lot of people online at any one time they try to slot in the users in, but that means using slower or older slots, added to that depending on your system, means that your link may not have the best or the clearest signal and there we have it. The other day my line was really slow, so I did a speed test - 7kps, I switched off my computer took a little break and came back 10 min later the speed had increased and I was able to finish quickly. It sometimes helps to take a break, because the time you spend waiting for a link to open is sometimes the same, that way when you return you may be lucky and your link may be faster and because you are relaxed you can catch up the time and probably finish faster then if you just tried to endure the slower speed.

Hi Well, I have broadband and it's is way faster than dial up but sometimes I swear it is so so slow that I have to wonder why I am paying for this service. I don't know why it is slow at times but it is. I have gone to the kitchen, fixed a coffee and come back and still wait for it to load. I actually think that part of the problem was my computer. My daughter has a laptop and had been telling me that she did NOT have this problem....we share the same connection. I just barely bought a new computer and so far...the speed is amazing. it very well may have been my computer.

I think your daughter is right sometimes there are compatibility issues with some products, especially the new once, if the new product is paired with an old one then definitely compatibility issues is to arise well anyway i am glad that your internet is already working fine. Mine it is really the signal that is having issues since it is a prepaid and my braodband stick is one of the pioneer in the market. I think I should get a new one and fast take care now sid556.

There are already many available postpaid plans that can accommodate your budget. You just need to inquire to all of them and then compare and analyze :) How much internet load do you consume? If it is already near or equivalent to a postpaid plan, then it is time for you to have the postpaid. You'll have faster connection and without the hassle to look for a loading station when you are about to totally deplete your internet load. Another option that you have if you are still in prepaid is for you to prepare in advanced the discussion that you want to start. Doing so, you'll just need to type it here in myLot instead of composing it on the spot. You'll save time, bandwidth and your discussion is fully proofed :)

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but I would try to see if using it during 'non peak' hours would help you get faster speeds. If your data rate is too slow try contacting your provider and find out if there is anything you can do that would help you get a little faster data rate.

It's not really that kind of broadband, you see in my country most of the internet and cellphone lines are prepaid, that is the price of getting cheap internet. But anyway I have plans of getting an internet line which is definitely much faster and has free cable TV attached to it for 40 bucks pretty cheap right anyway still waiting on that check from my odesk account and by February I'll be blazing the net. Hey the off peak hours that you mentioned really is when i normally use the web, less interruptions!!!
