The Inner Warrior

I watch a lot of historical films, about all kinds of warriors, and I wonder if life wouldn't be better back in those days, when a man could earn his living off his blade, and if he was good enough he could die honorably in battle. I feel like there is this inner warrior in me that is yearning to pick up steel and face evil. I have never even had a real fight my whole life so I don't know where this urge comes from. Has anyone out there ever felt like this, like they were born in the wrong time or historical era?

I think it would have been a very dark existence, maybe I like the idea of a fairytale life but to me that time frame looks like a very unhappy time.

You are right in that war and loss of life was great back then, but at least a man had a purpose and that was to fight for his family, fight for his country, and fight for his honor. Is it better to live a short life with purpose, or live a long life without one?
