Ok I must confess I'm a Yank and New to football but I am so proud to see Tim' goal! How incredible was this? I keep seeing the highlight and I am still amazed. But for a American? Are you kidding me? Your thoughts.

I saw this on Sportscenter this morning. They say that he was only the 4th goalie to have done this. It's amazing! Unfortunately his team mates didn't help him much to win the game as Bolton beat them 2-1. I think Landon Donovan was also in the game.

It was a great goal but when they say 4th goalie to have done this, they are referring to the EPL, many goals of this type have been scored by goal keepers.

I think you shouldn't find it amazing. Many goalkeepers have scored before.

he score the goal..and for the goalkeeper, score goal is not their main duty.. with the goal, he had been the fourth goalkeeper in EPL which can make goal..the previous goalkeeper which had ever score goal is Petr Schmeichel, Paul Robinson and Bred Freidel(if iam not wrong).. but the greatest goalkeeper for making a score is Rogerio ceni and Jose chilavert..they are able for scoring a goal from free kick..wonderful ability for the goalkeeper

It is unusual for a keeper to score but the windy conditions and the bounce off the pitch helped him a lot.

This is not the first time something like this happen. But still, seeing such a goal, it is still wonderful. If you watch Howard's expression after the goal, he wasn't exactly celebrating. He must have felt the Bolton's goalkeeper when it went in.

Wow! Now that is sportsmanship! A classy move! So I assume all he was doing was putting the ball back in play and the wind and the one bounce did all the rest! Here this was the main soccer/football highlight of the day!

When goals like that happen, it is the goalkeeper on the receiving end that we have to feel for. Sorry for him but we are happy for football in general. It is the fault of the goalkeeper - it is a position that has to always pay attention to all the happenings on the field. One minute's lapse of concentration and it is a goal! But it is football. It happens. It amazes.
