Because of common cold and Allergy,I was little worried in the morning and consulted my family physician. He checked my Blood Pressure and he told me that the Pressure is slightly higher than the normal. But he told me nothing to worry and he did not prescribed any medicine for the Blood Pressure. How can I Keep my blood pressure normal. What is the normal level and how much can go low and high. What is the diet for this. I request mylotters to share your views here.

The Normal level would be 120/80.. I guess you have eat healthy foods avoid any vices such as drinking, smoking and other stuff.. exercise regularly.. As for myself, I take maintenance already, so just live a healthy life..

Well, somehow drinking can be a problem if its too much, but if your blood pressure is so high that you can feel somethings different.. I guess you have to consult it to your doctor.. Having a high blood pressure is not good, it has all the risk you can get, uncontrolled blood pressure can lead to kidney problems.. if ever you feel unusual just don't hesitate to go to your doctor..:)

To keep my blood pressure normal, I avoid eating foods which aggravates my blood pressure. One of those items is coconut. I am very allergic to coconut. If I drink coconut juice or eat any thing that has coconut in it, my blood pressure rises instantly. So, I have to be very careful not to take coconut.

Hi..Greenline, Thank you for your response in this discussion. I appreciate you for your capability to avoid eating foods which aggravates your BP. I am not in a position to avoid such foods and also I like coconut and coconut products very much. What treatment you are doing for this allergy

While the "normal" pressure is 120/80, it varies quite a bit according to the time of day, how active you've been recently, when you last ate and so on. Having a cold and allergy too will bring blood pressure up. If your doctor told you he wasn't worried, then don't worry about it. Try to live a healthy lifestyle, eat well and drink lots of water and you should never have a problem. (Remember, too, that blood pressure goes up naturally as we age.)

Dear Simsim There is no cure for high blood pressure. You can only prevent the number to be low and constant. It is more of an in-born thing. The Chinese prevents high blood pressure by eating lots and lots of 'Star Fruits' found in most China town's supermarket's fruit sections. There are a variety of medication that can keep your blood pressure low. Visit any reputable clinics, they can help you. OK? Thanks! Love: Bro. Joe GBU

Hi My mom has high blood pressure and cholesterol. She is under medication. You should not worry if sometimes your blood pressure is high. This is, of the times, due to stress. The docs will give you meds when something is steady. The normal levels of blood pressure are between 10-12 the high and 6-8 the low.In my country we use these kind of measurements and i do not know if it is the same for other countries too. The diet to help you retain your blood pressure low ,is to avoid salt, fats and eat vegetables, fruits and fish. Also the exercise might help as well. And avoid stress which is a main factor causing high blood pressure.
