What do you think about this today move from english Wikipedia? They black out the site for 24 hours, just to show how it could be if they decide to disapeard form web. I think it can`t happend also to other sites, google, yahoo, twiter, facebook. They rule the web and american government cannot allow this to happend. What do you think about that?

Wikipedia participated in a massive online protest against two bills, SOPA and PIPA, that our American Government was trying to pass. It would have literally censored the internet under the guise of fighting piracy. Both bills don't have a chance to fight piracy.

Hi serginho: I found it like a really good way to protest after some projects in the USA that may restrict access to the internet and the information on the net just because of the possibility that the site is being used by one person to share illegal links. It's not fair for the rest of the people and there are other ways to attack piracy. ALVARO

Wikipedia was protesting SOPA and PIPA bills because they went too far and made it so the government could spy on people's downloading habits.

They rule the web and american government cannot allow this to happend. I don't think that's the case.. Seeing it from positive point of view, I think they just want to stop the online piracy. But, well, they're taking it too much Let us just hope for the best :)

I think it's great that they show attention to it. But I really don't hope that they will disappear for good. I'm using wiki a lot, hopefully I'm not from the US so and can still use wiki in my own language. But looking forward for tomorrow where the english will be back, I'm using it a lot!
