It must be sad and disappointing that the success and career that she worked so hard to achieve was taking away from her because of some maniac. But she is a very determined, courageous lady so I'm sure that she'll strive in whatever new direction her life takes. I do think that her decision to resign was the responsible and best choice for herself and her constituents. She needs time to focus on recovering while someone who is in full health both mentally and physically can step into her position ready and able to serve the people at 100%.

Yes, it is a shame that she has had to endure so much in life to have it come down to this, but I think now the best thing is for her to take care of herself, and enjoy life. I do wish her truly the Best and for her family. My thoughts and Prayers are for her and know that she was an icon for many future generations to come.

I had been wondering if she was able to recover and do her job. It is sad to think that she must resign. It is important for her to take time to work on her recovery.

It was a miracle that Ms Giffords is still alive today. She is really a courageous who is decisive. I feel her resigning from congress was a wise decision. She needs time to fully recover not only physically, but also emotionally. I say kudos to Rep Giffords!

I was really hoping that she would continue with her career, but I can understand how life changing this has been for her. I am sure that her priorities have changed.
