I dont understand those people who gets high for drinking Cough Medicine

I always takes sedlix or anythng from Xepa company for cough medicine cause i think its works perfectly for me.. it can cure my bad cough in 1 or 2 days.. but i hate drowsiness.. i have to sleep and not being able to do anything..
Now, i have met a friend who loves to get high by drinking Cough Medicine by mixing it up with Coke.. I have tried it once coz i just hapen to cough at that time so i guess theres nothing wrong if its already mixed with coke .but the effect is still the same on me i end up sleeping after that.. I think that friend is stupid!! wth?? Cough Medicine??
or some even worse, i read in paper bout this bunch of people sniffing glue to get high.. owhhh come on..

hi cairalyssa, Itsa probably more simply than you can imagine.
See you take cough meds for a specific reason and thats what
its made for...But there are people who are not as sensible as
you are and if they have substance abuse tendencies, then its
another story...
Thats why the goverment is making adults show ID at the supermarket
when purchasing cough medicine because some jerk has abuse the cough
medicine and has made it difficult for anyone to purchase simple
cough meds.

The other year, I went out with friends and I noticed when we were chatting in her room, tons of cough syrup bottles. I asked one friend who gets sick that often and they all laughed at me. One friend explained to me the reason and that's how I learned about it. Haven't heard that you can mix it with coke too but whatever it is, its just for the wrong purpose and might have side effects to them.

I haven't tried that and I think I will never try it. Your friend is a little silly doing that. Is she doing it on purpose - to get high? Or she also happen to have a cough that time? There is nothing they can get from that but pure health problems eventually.

I personally do not know what to say but... that friend of yours, excuse me for saying is being rather stupid. Every medicine today carries a risk with it, especially when abused as a way to get "high". Honestly, I don't know why people keep messing with themselves this way. Wrongful use of meds is frowned upon for this reason. If any of my friends started doing this, trust me when I say that I'd start smacking them around. Just something I'd really hate them doing to themselves, y'know?
