If I am fromUnited States or United Kingdom, Most likely I would have been in Jail. I am guilty of using piratebay, I am guilty of torrenting some movies , downloading picture and Tv shows. DVD copies were way to expensive in my country, Cinema's are expensive, some ofmy fave TV shows dont air in my country. So yeah I fessed up with my crimes but I wont go to jail cos there is no law yet... If I really like the singer though and I really respect the artist I actually buy their songs and albums legally. Games that requires online multiplayer, I was forced to buy the original copies cos pirated copies and torrents wont allow online features. time to fessed up your crimes.... If your from the US, dont post cos you might end up in jail cos of SOPA.

I do download TV shows and movies, the TV shows mainly because I do not own a TV and secondly I do not live in the US so most of the shows that I started watching before leaving the states do not air in my current country :( For movies, I do feel a little guilty downloading but to be honest the movie industry is not really losing out so much on my download. There will always be movie theaters and people will still buy the movies. If its something I really like I'll buy but how is downloading any different from going to the library once a week to rent a movie FOR FREE? As for the industry even though downloading does have a small impact they are still making millions on each film that comes out. Basically when it comes out everyone wants to see it in theater, there is something about that experience that I too will pay the extra money to see a good film that I have been anticipating to see, just to see it in theaters.

I already stopped watching TV cos commercials annoys me, I had been downloading my fave shows on TV too. Its more updated and the episodes are much more fresher. some American Tv shows in my country are like 2 seasons late. and waiting is wasting for me. I want to be updated.

they still make millions of dollars so you dont need to feel that bad, specially if its a box office movie that already make millions and billions. why feel guilty if they were still rich.

Super GUILTY! All the dvds and cds I wanted to buy are so expensive, and with this I reside with downloading from sites. Even the games I want to have are so expensive that is why I always set aside money to buy at least one game. If there is someone who uses the internet a lot and says he does not do Internet Piracy I would love to meet him/her and ask for money :)

Hi captain Of course, I am one who is guilty of Internet Piracy. I am sure there will be hardly anyone who is not guilty... I mean, almost all do watch YouTube Videos, Listen to online FMs and Music stations... do they buy all versions legally?c'mon, that is kidding. I have been using downloads(for personal and home use only) for Movies, Games(when I used to Play those wonderful PC games), even a few Applications (Windows and Microsoft are expensive and come up with updates so very frequently and worst - the new ones wont run on older Devices)... And yes, I also downloaded a complete season of Star Trek (the 1960s series) about 3 years ago and want to download some of the Lucy's Show, Yes Minister and if I can find one - Kathasagar(this is an old tele series from Indian National Television telecast way back in 1980s - a collection of about 75 episodes each based on a short story from worlds best writers/authors).

I torrent my fave Tv shows too cos I hate commercials and downlaoded videos have no commercials. I can watch them without any hassle. Plus many commercials specially the shampoo commercials (there is no way in heck a person can get super straight hair with a freaking shampoo, well people are stupid to fall for them) Games.... I actually buy the originals now so I can use the online features. Movies.....Nope specially the blockbuster hollywood movies, they already make lots of money anyway, times are harsh, yeah its wrong but its practical.

You are not from United states so you are safe. Though US is aggressive with UK residents, forcing them to go to the US so they can sue them, I know its sounds stupid. Well we are lucky that we are not from the US.

Very much guilty. I think the internet is the medium for Piracy. No offense meant but it is true. With the power of the internet, our life became easier so thus Piracy will become much more easier thru the internet.

Piracy is a form of stealing. Particularly, it refers to the unlawful copying or use of intellectual property. Piracy is mainly a problem for the amusement and software industries, and thus piracy most often involves violations of copyright law. Copyright is a legal right that protects original works from being reproduced, performed, or distributed without permission of the copyright owner. Basically, a copyright gives its owner the restricted right to make copies of the material in question.

There is nothing to worry about these things. If there is law then only you will be in jail.In this act they are looking for pirated downloads.Torrent is fastest thing where you can upload and download. If there is download from torrent which is not pirated or not any one is holder of that thing then you can use torrents. On torrents you can download only legal things means you can download from torrents but only legal things.

we are lucky that our countries have no SOPA and PIPA. We can download all the things we wanted.

Well aren't we all guilty? I do exactly what you do but maybe even worst sometimes. I watch most movies online and I don't bother going to the cinema because it's way too expensive from where I come from. I download from ps2 games to music, I get everything for free. I even download textbooks online that usually cost like 70 dollars out in the book store for school. I download some movies too and I download notes by other students off the internet. I was kinda sad to hear that Mega Upload was taken down If only things were free but then we would be ruining the economy.

So Australia is not as strict as the US? with all the economic problems the world is going through, they expect us to waste money for entertainment. majority of the world rather get it free. What Megaupload is taken down? I loved that site cos their downloads are faster than the other sharing sites. I mean fileserve takes forever to download.

Australia is pretty strict about piracy but being online, no one can stop us from downloading! I heard from my friend that Mega Upload was taken down because they got caught by some company that is seeking out to destroy piracy, I'm not too sure. Yeah, it is pretty annoying how the authorities are so worked up about piracy when no one even has the money to even buy entertainment. The economy in Australia is pretty bad, bills and food items are going up and we don't have the money to pay it all. I don't even go to the cinema anymore because it's so expensive.

I can watch tv programms I missed mostly for free (via my tv provider). Sometimes I can't but I can by internet. Some programms are free the ones I have to pay for I don't watch (tv is not that important to me). I love to go to the cinema but only if a movie is great. It depends from year to year if there are less or many great movies (to my opinion). Most cinema's have days where you can go for less money (nearly half the price or 1/3 of the price). Once in a while I download a movie or watch a movie downloade by someone else. I don't think this is forbidden in my country. I also buy movies on dvd (have a lot), but don't copy them. It isn't worth the trouble and time. BTW this is allowed 1 copy for own use. I do buy the movie when it's for sale, I don't care if I have to wait some years till it is. Once in a while I watch a movie I can order via my tv provider. So I can watch it at home for about 2 till 5 euro. I have 24 hours to see it, so can see it more as once or watch it with others as well.

Was there a strict law already yet in your country? youtube actually have some full length movies (older ones) I use to buy DVD, both original and pirated but I realize they just clutter my very small apartment so I prefer movies in digital form. I only pay for a movie if I think it deserves it. I dont pirate songs of Indie singers though.

Hello there CaptAlbertWhisker, Where do you get those dancing things, hi there hope mylotting is great for you today. Yepp I confess to I probably bought over a hundred dvd's from movies, documentaries to TV shows and exercise crap. But what to do it's expenssive but for this year I am changing everything and I'll just buy originals. Not only that they will last I can also help the industry. I wish that stricter laws will be implied in my country regarding vendors and buyers of pirated things and economic plans on establishing work for all should be the focus of the government. Including Education, Health and Internal and External Defense.

I dont buy pirated DVD's and cd's , I watch things in youtube and download stuff online. I mean its free and its stupid to dislike something that is free. Maybe if My country becomes rich, I became rich I will stop my wrongdoings, In the US, a 9 downloaded songs can get you to jail for 5 years,Just taking advantage of my situation cos there is no law yet.

if an American will be brave enough to fess up here, that person will be too brave, They were not allowed to admit this, it can send them in jail. specially with the controversies of Sopa. I am guilty too but its not illegal here yet. I heard it is legal in UK
