I Never Thought Denying A Class Will Lead Them To Hack My PC

Hi Lotters and Friends A few days back I had a group of Ants visiting my Computer Desk. Initially, I thought they needed to learn Computers(maybe they just came to know about me being a computer teacher). Unfortunately, I was and am busy until Feb and so I knew I will not find any time to teach them. I denied them politely and respectfully moved them away from the Desk. This angered them somewhere and they really felt bad... after all who wont love to learn something that would open an exciting new horizon. I had no idea of what is waiting for me... in the next few days, there was an army of ants inside my Computer - the System Unit, The Keyboard and it did not even spare the mouse(it isnt dead yet and still these ants wanted to scavenge and feast on it GRR!) The army somehow got to know about my passwords and other items that I always lust for - and they messed up with the Keyboard - "C" will NEVER get typed - Darn! C is so very lovely and yummy! - Chocos, Chowmein, Coffee... How good they are without that "C"! It took me about a day to get the repairs done and somehow I managed to get over the damage and log back onto my PC.... But I still fear another Archaeological Survey of my Computer(I know it is antique from 1999) from that army in the near future... Simply because I still dont have time to teach them and moreover I am upset by their behavior... (they should have done anything but not ate the inside plastics for key C)... Anyways, I think it is going to be a lone battle and the fact that I need to know is - How Can I Win This Battle? Simply put... Please let me know how can I save me, my PC, and anything from these Armies (or Archaeological Survey Group) of ANTS! Cheers, theSids. Moral Learned: I will not deny anyone education... Government says Everyone has a Right to Education. PS: May Be Continued.

Do you mean Thugs f@cked up your PC Just because you wouldn't teach them. Well If that is the case , then that is against the law over here. It is called extortion and in my book I would kill them for doing less!the moment they ruined my things is the last time I would talk to them Or see them if they were in a pine Box! I'm sorry , I think this is a crime and They Must be punished somehow and because you are my dear Bhai , I want to go gangster on them . And the moral s not to give up your no but to say no And if they can't take it Then it is their problem. They can destroy your PC but that will not get them Any closer to learning about computers. Now I know the proper revenge. For every rupee it took to fix everything is an Year they have to wait to even talk to You!

I'm not sure here... "eat out the inside plastics" and such lead me to believe these were, in fact, bugs, as in, actual insects but if these are other terms to refer to people then I've never heard it used before. If it were people then I suppose the best thing to do in that case would be to report them and be done with it. Messing with a person's equipment without permission and damaging it is illegal over here as well. Called "damage to personal property" or something of that nature.

Hi behen Well, these thugs are Ants. The last time, they messed up with me when we were in the earlier place. And it was just before rains - if this incident would have been before rains, I would have thought that they did it to take shelter... but this time, it is still winters here. I wish there were some laws to protect us from the animals and pests like this uncalled for attack

Wow...those are some very persistent little ants. I suppose that is the lesson...never ever ignore those that want an education. You know...I know this art instructor that I think they could really get a lot from. They should visit her.

Thank you so much for the best response! I am hoping she gets her package before next week. Perhaps part of her final exam will be consumed.

Hi JenInTN Little Ants You have to see those 6 legged creatures... they seem to be monsters to me at the moment, even a little more ferocious than the long extinct Dinos... The worst was that I could not log into my Linux Partition because of the "C" key not working. Let us plan out a shipment or a courier to your Instructor... it will do good for many (me, them and her, if not more)

Hi thesids, I heard that vinegar can actually get rid of ants, you can try to chase them away from you PC and then use vinegar to draw a border within you PC, it might help. Otherwise just use some powder ants pesticide, and that will definitely works. Good luck!

Hi yspmyl I read this response yesterday after you posted it and immediately, I went to the nearest shop to get myself and the Computer Desk, an Ant Pesticide. It is some kind of Chalk Stick with a horrible smell... but I could see the results quite quickly, the ants have started moving away and a couple that could now have also succumbed... Maybe I have found the right weapon in my arsenal for the battle

Hi bro.. :) Ants in your computer.. May be they go for C because of sweet chocos and cakes.. I wonder how your S for sugar is still working ... Never mind, Promise them complete course about computers with dates and I am sure they will leave those spare parts..

Hi bro AKP No, the S was quite okay. I am still quite unsure what made them think that almost all I do have everywhere is "C". As per english Dictionary and internet, the Letter E is the most used alphabet. And they did not chew on E instead they munched on C - One thing for sure, they are not Diabetic Ah, yes, C also stands for Computers and Courses... so now I do get to see the reason

Haha, another day with a smile in mylot in your discussion buddy! I think it happens when some food, even a bit, got inside our laptop. It happened to me when my daughter ate her food beside her laptop and some bits of leftover food incidentally were on the laptop and just a few minutes, ants appeared! If I did not see it at once,I'm sure they will also check the inside of the laptop and then eventually store their food there. One of my brother-in-law's cellphone was broken due to those army ants. They made the cellphone as their storage of food and ate some parts of the cellphone. So it is always good to clean up our gadgets more often.

Hi mtr Thanks for mentioning - my discussion brought you smiles Ah yes, these lappys are dangerous for us and good for ants. I too had this kind of experience when I was working with that Australian Company. They had provided all employees laptops and as we were online 24x we had to take our dinner, lunch and also coffee etc while working. I am shocked to know that the Army doesnt even spare Cell Phones And if they can find something in a device that is almost always close and at hand, I now understand that the kept/stationary Devices are more prone... You mention cleaning.... Of course my computer has its yearly bath and also a monthly cleaning - I open it up and disassemble, dust it once each month. But this wasnt enough... Now I think I should bathe it more frequently... after all the days are getting hotter

Ha ha that is funny, next time maybe you should not deny them a class, of coarse I am pretty sure they would have gotten to your PC anyway. Sounds like you had something sweet on that "C" key for them to go for it. I eat at my computer all the time and perhaps you do too. Sorry I have no ideas on how you are going to win this battle, but I hope you can get them out of your house. Looking forward to a continuance if there are one.

Hi Jessi It is really great to see you after a long time. Hope you and family are fine and doing good dear. I normally dont eat on the Computer as I have suffered in the past - when working for the Australian Firm from my place when we were online 24x. But yes, I do take coffee at times but am sure I never spilled any on the keyboard. I have got those armies away now and am also more prepared. Hope they dont revert back... and in case there is another one... I will be posting that too

hi thesids heree I was all prepapred to do in the invading horde of Ant armies with sprinkling some boric acid powder in their trails as they will not cross it,it is toxic to them . but if they are on a learning campaign why not direct the army towards say the compost pile or I was going to say kitchen but their learning processes would interfere with your own getting good meals. sothat idea is out. I am all for learning but the C key oh my gosh howmein, hocos those do not have a great ring to them he he. I know find an old worn out computer and lead the ant army to'it if nothing more they may get tummy aches from eating the plastic in it and will leave your good computer alone. oh my the complexities of dealing with Ant armies. wow now you need some offee , missing the c key lol lol.happy discussion this

Thanks for making me smile this early brother :p Okay, talking about education. I just finish my 3kms run for free education and 150-computer rooms (yess!!!) Last Sunday we did, we made it to the records more or less 300,000 runners for new Guinness world record (ok fine, I am proud to be one-lolz) First thing you must do is- organize a marathon for these armies -ANTS! And ask them to march to break our new record and promise them to teach them after (hahahaa) I am sure these armies won't damaged the letter C- for chocolates, cookies and chweets -hahahaha. They're asking for their share that's for sure

Hi di 3Kms run for education Sounds exciting as it is in the morning. I missed out your discussion on the records but I take this opportunity to congratulate you The marathon of the ants sounds a good idea but dear di, these armies are well trained and will not fatigue in case they had to join in one GRR! I could have shared the Chocos, cookies or even that CAKE that I ate up before the party started (hmmm this cake - might be another reason for this gruesome attack) but now, after what they did to the PC... I have my doubts

Sid beta Thank you so much for this funny discussion, but I know it is true, few months i spilled tea on key board of my laptop(no sugar in it, but ('sugar-free', aspartame tablets added); i wiped it and kept it, because i use it rarely, mostly if i am out from home... One day i was watching the home renovation work, so i took the laptop there to check mails, ohh my god, it was full of ants, the keyboard was jammed, my son who is a computer hardware engineer, replaced it after he got one from Tosiba distributor.. Blessings.

Namaskar Sir The damage of the Desktops Keyboard is quite less severe than that for any laptop as if matters go worse, one can always change the old keyboard with a new one and it isnt that expensive and readily available. Not so in the laptops. Good that your son could fix the issue.

So the army of ants has gotten even with you for not teaching them anything. Maybe you have accidentally dropped some sweet crumbs of what you are eating on it, that's why the ants got so attracted to it sids. Can shaking it upside down, not do the trick, and dislodge whatever sweet droppings therein?

Hi SIMPLYD I do not take any eateries on this desk dear. I know and have a bad experience from the past which keeps haunting me and keeps eateries away from this desk. Initially, when I saw a streak of ants going into the keyboard, I did try shaking it turning upside down... even hit it hard on the floor a couple of times - and many ants fell out... but some stayed back in and they did the damage. Then I had to open up the keyboard and clean it manually... Now, after the experience, I am planning to hold some discussions between the Ant community and me to find out if there is a way we can negotiate

Hello Sids, I think they love your computer and found it safe as home to hibernate. May be they have found something special to eat for which they can have a party that's why they are still coming on to your key board. The easiest way i think to get rid of these ants is to clean your key board once and keep your desktop at another place.

Hi Sjvg Hibernate Thank you for not mentioning other things otherwise I would have been so desperate I have cleaned up the PC and also the keyboard and hope that there will not be any further attacks but now, I dont trust them.... they have been so very barbaric and un-cultured

Sometimes when i'm using the computer there are lot of ants biting me that's why i always have rashes in my arm and legs.

If they are so desperate to learn from you, why don't you charge them a hefty fee per student, that way you can recoup your losses and maybe get started on a lucrative career. Who knows the next lot could be the voracious termites.

Hi fannekhan Your name is enough for me to think good dear... why are you planning the Termites to jeopardize me The hefty fee could have been an option but these ants, I dont know why they wanted to learn PCs or even want to perform that Archaeological Survey on it! Are they trying to learn computer Hardware?

Seriously? Ants? Those six legged bugs that work in large numbers... ANTS!? This is some behavior I have NEVER heard of before and they "learned" your passwords? How? Seriously? ANTS!? This kind of behavior is beyond me! I've never heard of ants eating computer components either! I can't think of anything inside the computer they would particularly find appealing, let alone something to eat and nest in. Normally ants seek out earth (most ants) or woody (carpenter ants) places to nest in, but a computer? I can only suspect on the keyboard though because things that are sweet and sugary can seep down between the keys and they are automatically attracted to it. Though, I can make suggestions on how to repel them: cucumber/citrus peels in the general area, cinnamon, mint, chili pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cloves, garlic, or chalk/baby powder. These tend to deter them though be careful with chalk/baby powder! I think a natural cinnamon scented item should be enough.

Hi ShinDarkfox Yes dear, I am referring to these 6-legged little monsters... Actually, as I have a Desktop, I dont eat while on it... though there are times when I do take coffee while working on it. The inside of keyboard contains some rubbery materials (caps) and the ants find these yummy. Thanks for providing me some tips to strengthen my side in case there is a second attack on the PC or anywhere. I will get some chalk powder and also try to find out is there is anything available in the local markets with cinnamon scents.
