hi friends
this is something new for me........yesterday i got a call from
one unknown number....actually it was a missed call......usually
i don't answer or call back to unknown numbers.....however this
time i called back to see who gave me a missed call reason, it was
a international call and my lot of friends are working in abroad
so i thought that must be one of my friend........when the person
answer call he stared sir this so and so from so and so company and
your number is selected as lucky number and you will get a prize of
25lacks in Indian currency.....as soon as i heard this i disconnected
the call.......coz i thought it is fraud person/company.....and got
charged 20rs for that one call of 20seconds.......after that three
times i got missed call from the same number......
does this happened to you,what was that if somebody knows please
tell me and actually i have activated do-not-disturbed service on my
number.....

If people from abroad are able to find your phonenumber they will also be able to find you/your address if you really won something.

Hmm.. You have no evidence that it is a fraud. If I were you, I would listen to what they have to say at first. By the way, do not call them. Let them call you. They should be the ones doing so if they were going to pay you. Confirm what they have told you and do this before giving any other information other than your name. Make sure to list down the key people or points in the conversation.If they ever come to the point of making you pay for receiving your reward, then put the phone down.

You have now activated the do not disturb service or did you have this inplace before you got these phone calls? I would be call this service if you did it before. Hope you got it worked out.

Hi ritzz, no I have not gotten a call like that...however the
m\emails like that comes in my email very often...I just spam
them and keep moving...But a phone call, never...That must be
the new scam..
It sounds like you did the right thing by blocking the number.
Hope that helps..If I don't know the number on the caller ID
and they didn't leave a message, then it wasn't important to
them or me....
Stay safe and remember there are plenty of flim flammers out there...

i got such type of calls and text messages as well as emails many times.....and spoke with customer care regarding this and they band such type of numbers on my number....you can do the same. i know sometimes such type of numbers became headache......its better to avoid them.......

Those guys are just fraudsters. In our country they send text messages claiming you have won money in a lottery you never participated in. They then ask for a processing fee.

Welcome to the world of spam. We continue to receive spam of this type over the Internet, from the phone we have gotten rid of most of it, every once in a while a call gets through.

Hiya ritz,
No I block those kind of calls out most times I just don´t even bother to listen to them.
Have had them on the landline phone and I just hang up on them as they are never true only trying to sell something.
However I wish it could come true for you in that way but unluckily most times its just another fake thing going.xxx

If no legal proof that you won that prize/gift, always consider it came from scammer.
It happened to me many times in various ways like text messaging, miss call (like you), brochures, posting mail and unbelievable one: winning info inside product box.
The last scam (winning info inside product box) almost got me. It happen few month ago, it start when my niece buy a snack and she found small letters inside wrap that she won a fancy car and this letters give suggestion to call particular number (not official number). It look real but I had some doubt about this. So I decide to call official company who sold that product and guess what ... official company told me that they never do promotion like that. Dammm .... if I follow instruction in that letters, 90% I gonna get scammed

I worked before for a cellular company and there were a lot of calls like this that had been bothering people and sad part is that it was long distance collect calls so we do try to resolve it and help our customers have this numbers blocked. cheers i hope you resolve the issue.

I havent gotten a call like that. But I have gotten calls where people try to scam me. I got a call just last week and I was told if I would get a $100 gift card if I gave them my credit card. Once I heard that I told them to take me off their calling list and hung up. I still receive phone calls from them but I refuse to answer the phone.
