Well, it's the love for their club? Some players just want more exposure outside of their childhood club. That's one way of gaining more field time, that in turns raise their chances of playing for the national team. I believe there are some royal players in the world of football and it's their passion for it, that drives them to look for more playing time. WHen they feel they had enough, they would turn back to where they started from.

i dont think this is about love for the ex club he only need a chance for playing regularly and in Marseille , Lucho never get it anymore so he must leave for getting the regulary playing again

I think in some cases it is just to get back to the place where they started and probably have a family. In some other cases, people leave clubs because they do not figure in the manager's plan. But if the manager is replaced and a new manager comes in then the player might re-visit his plans. Cheers! Ram

Sometimes, things did not work out when a player left his former club. After an "adventure" they decided that the former club suits them best and thus a return.

It's official I think. Just read it in the news. And Porto get him for free!!! Wow, what a big financial profits for Porto :) I'm not following Lucho's progress. But maybe he can't develop well under the coach at Marseille. Or he just didn't fit in the team tactics. I don't know. Many reasons for that, indeed.
